00:11They said that you needed a recipe, a joke, and a talent.
00:16And so my recipe was how you stay married for 50 years.

00:59And I sang that to my husband on our 50th wedding anniversary.

01:17When I was in college, my first degree is in early childhood
01:20and I did a TV show for arts and crafts for children.
01:25And when I was in, I was a college gymnast and I got a degree in
01:31social work, graduated and got a direct commission into the army.
01:35I was the second to the last graduating class of the Women's
01:38Army Corps at Fort McClellan, Alabama, and I spent 28 years in
01:43the military and I'm a retired lieutenant colonel.
01:49What was the name of your show?
01:50The name of my show was Arts and Crafts for Children and I did it
01:55every weekend when I was in college.
01:58That was my first degree, early childhood education.
02:01My next degree was social work and I graduated with a bachelor's
02:04of science, got a direct commission into the military, was the
02:07second to the last graduating class of the Women's Army Corps
02:10before the army was co-ed.
02:11I spent 28 years in the military and I'm a retired lieutenant colonel.
