00:00The weekend holiday in Johor will return to Saturday and Sunday starting January 1 next year.

00:08In a post on Facebook, the leader of the Sultan of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim said,

00:13my Lord has received the approval of the President-Elect, Sultan Ibrahim, in making the decision.

00:20I have also asked the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hafiz Ghazi and the Mufti of Johor,

00:26to hold discussions and investigate the matter from every angle and aspect.

00:32Tunku Ismail hopes that all private companies, governments and related parties

00:36will provide space and sufficient time for Muslim workers to perform Jumaat prayer on time.

00:43On January 1, 2014, Sultan Ibrahim changed the weekend holiday in Johor to Friday and Saturday

00:49as a tribute to Friday as a day of celebration

00:54and recognition of Islam as an official religion of Johor.
