00:08Railway 7800 Class 7827 of Linden Manor. It's a steam train to Paynton. I've bought my combined
00:17ferry ticket and steam train ticket. So I'm catching the Dartmouth King Rear Ferry which
00:27only takes about five minutes to get across the River Dart.

03:32We're now just going along the beach at Slapton Sands. Exercise Tiger or Operation Tiger was
03:41one of a series of large-scale rehearsals for the D-Day invasion of Normandy which took place in
03:471944 on Slapton Sands in Devon. Coordination and communication problems resulted in friendly fire
03:54injuries during the exercise and an allied convoy positioning itself for the landing was attacked by
04:00e-boats of the Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine resulting in the deaths of at least 749 American servicemen.
04:11The steam railway station is just above the ferry point and I'm short of time so I've just got a
04:16quick jump on the train and head towards Paynton. The time's now 12.35.
04:21I've just got the Linden Manor which is Great Western Railway 7800 class number 7827.
04:44The Linden Manor was built in 1950. Its first location was in Chester when it moved to Oswestry
04:57in 1959 and it's now working on the Torquay-Paynton-Dartmouth line. I'm now following
05:05some of the River Dart before heading off towards Paynton. Today the Linden Manor is
05:09pulling eight carriages and the Pullman panoramic view carriage.

23:42Hello everyone. Today I decided to go from Plymouth on the Kingsbridge bus to Dartmouth
23:49to get the train or the steam train from Dartmouth to Paynton and that's where I am now and it's been
23:55a great trip. The train ticket cost me about ÂŁ18 and the bus fare was free.
