00:00All right, Tigers play in playoff baseball again tomorrow and the starter.

00:05Tyler Holton, Reese Olsen, they're still figuring it out,

00:07but Scooble will start game two.

00:08That was believed to be the case, but you never know with chaos.

00:12It's good to get that confirmed.

00:13Scooble regular rest on Monday game two.

00:16Yeah, it's nice to know that,

00:17especially if you're, you know, making that trip down there

00:20and you want to know, am I going to go?

00:22Do I want to try and force it and go Saturday

00:25if they're going to try and speed things up for Scooble?

00:27Nice to know that they're not.

00:28He's going to be on regular rest and you're going to be able

00:31to hopefully come back with a minimum.

00:33Of one Scooble win.

00:35You know, the dynamic with this series is it's going to be interesting

00:38to see how he pitches and go and kind of moves around Jose Ramirez.

00:42Yes, because to me, he's the arguably best switch hitting player in baseball.

00:47So it doesn't matter what pitcher you decide to use.

00:50He'll just go to the other side.

00:51But OPS against the left handed pitching is 1081

00:57against right handed pitching.

00:59It's seven ninety seven.

01:01So there is a definite difference, even though seven ninety seven

01:03is pretty solid still.

01:05I mean, you want to avoid a thousand eighty one.

01:08That's an argument to pitch around a guy.

01:11Yeah, I mean, you might see Scooble dancing around him.

01:14Oh yeah. Don't give him anything good.

01:16And if he walks, he walks.

01:17Well, AJ's had they've had intentional walks of Jose Ramirez, too.

01:20I mean, that's the other option.

01:21Like you'd think you would avoid a lefty for the reason

01:23that you don't want a lefty in the first inning against Jose Ramirez.

01:27Probably means it could be resource in.

01:28Yeah, it points to Houghton.

01:30It sounds like he wants to start Houghton almost.

01:32But because Ramirez is there, you're like, all right,

01:36we're in jeopardy of falling down in the first inning.

01:38You want to do that?

01:38But who knows?

01:39You can start brisky if he wants.

01:40I mean, I had brisky start games.

01:42There's a righty on the mound.

01:43And now you still get to save Olsen for the bottom of the order

01:46so that he gets off to a good start and can go deeper into the game.

01:51The way they've done this, I mean, he alluded to it, he goes.

01:54The unselfishness of this team.

01:57He mentioned how he was going to pinch hit for Torkelson,

02:00but he kept him in one more at bat because they didn't make the pitching change.

02:03And he goes to Andy Abana as McKinstry comes.

02:05Nobody has an ego when they get taken out of these baseball games.

02:08Right. Like that's kind of unique.

02:11It's very pro sports.

02:13Yeah. I mean, especially when you start to get into the playoffs

02:16and guys want their at bats, right? Legacy, man.

02:20Well, it's not only that, but you're dealing with guys

02:23that are playing with a lot of confidence right now.

02:25That's why I asked that question.

02:26How much does confidence play into this?

02:28And guys want to get up there. They want to take their cuts.

02:30They want their shot at winning the game for the team.

02:34And it's the same thing on the mound.

02:36You strike out four or five and you're like, I want to keep going.

02:40But the fact is, all of these guys have bought into exactly

02:47what A.J. Hinch is doing, and it's the matchups.

02:51And they're willing to to make that sacrifice

02:54because it ultimately has led to wins.

02:57And he did a good job. We've talked about it, too.

02:59But clearly he's mapped this out where they have off days

03:02between almost every game in this five game series.

03:05There's only one back to back in a five game series.

03:07So they're going to have anybody they use on Saturday,

03:10unless something gets crazy, will be available on Monday.

03:13Anybody they use on Monday will be available on Wednesday.

03:18Like they're going to have the full complement, whether it's 12 or 13 pitchers.

03:22They're going to have damn near every arm available every game.

03:24They play this series with the exception of the back to back a Wednesday, Thursday.

03:28I didn't guarantee to play a Thursday game.

03:30So we'll see how the series unfolds.

03:31But Scoble lines up for two and five.

03:33Yeah, a game five, if necessary, with the best pitcher on planet earth on the mound.

03:37It's why we've talked about this Cleveland series and we're not worried.

03:41There's not concern.

03:42Some of this is it's kind of a house money deal.

03:44Seasons of success, no matter what.

03:46But it also feels like Detroit should win this series, right?

03:49Yes. I mean, that's why

03:51we're confident in saying that this is a World Series team

03:55because of the confidence that you're playing against the,

03:58you know, the Guardians.

04:00And you look at the lineup and you look at the names and you look at Ramirez

04:05like that, that is a formidable foe.

04:08But in Cleveland, they're looking at it as, well, we've got to face

04:12a team that is red hot, playing good baseball.

04:18The best baseball that maybe they've played in a decade.

04:23And now we've got to face that team.
