It was a battle of the monsters on WWE RAW and Braun Strowman stood stall. Peter Klein explains why this was his favourite feud of the year. He then breaks down the rest of WWE RAW heading toward Bad Blood.

00:00For Raw this week, I thought, like, the main thing is Braun Strowman against Bronson Reed.

00:05And that is probably, when we do the year-end review, that is probably going to be my feud

00:09of the year.

00:10That was so much fun.

00:13And it's just, it's dumb, but it's, you just, you don't see stuff like that anymore.

00:19And the difference is, when you did see it in the past, in WWE, it was, like, goofy comedy

00:25things, whatever.

00:26But this was, like, it's as serious as you can be when you're splashing someone through

00:30a car and doing all of those things that they were doing, right?

00:34But it was taken as, these are two monster ass-kickers who are gonna go out and monstrously

00:41kick some ass.

00:43And that was the real, um, the real high point, I thought, of the last little bit.

00:50In what was kind of supposed to be just, like, a blow-off, like, just a couple big guys have

00:53a match.

00:54This, I think, turned into feud of the year.

00:55I think has SO elevated Bronson Reed.

00:59I worry a little bit of what is next with Braun Strowman, given that he was kind of

01:03in it with The Miz a little bit.

01:04I think that's not the turn we need there.

01:08I think that there needs to be maybe something a little bit more elevated from a Braun Strowman

01:13standpoint.

01:14But Bronson Reed, it's obvious what's next.

01:15It's a feud with Seth Rollins.

01:16And being in that sort of a thing, talk about elevation.

01:19Holy shit.

01:20Do you get that?

01:21The semi-Zayn-Gunther stuff, I thought was quite fun.

01:24And I think they did a good job of getting you back to, of getting this match set up.

01:30And, like, all of the Gunther being, um, oh, well, you got, uh, I just, I don't buy it

01:37from you.

01:38I don't buy it from you.

01:39I don't get it.

01:40I don't, whatever.

01:41The one thing I wish they would have done in the last little while is have Sami Zayn

01:44come out and win a bunch of these matches.

01:46That's kind of what I wish a little bit more.

01:48His promos have been amazing.

01:49And I think the way they tied it all together on Monday was actually kind of perfect and

01:55really fun.

01:56In, like, the, I, my, my family, I'm the golden goose.

02:02Golden goose Gunther.

02:03I'm the golden goose.

02:04I'm the one who provides for my family.

02:06Your family is used to you losing.

02:07And it's like, oh, okay, well, let me just embarrass you in front of your family again.

02:10Like, I thought in the past, like, again, just to compare this to WWE five years ago,

02:16that would have been, like, people would be chanting Gunther no balls.

02:20And they would have been, oh, you gotta get your balls out of Ludwig Geyser's purse.

02:25It would have been that sort of shit.

02:27But to, to have it be, again, kind of a goofy thing in a more serious way, I think it was

02:34done perfectly.

02:35So, I, I really enjoyed that.

02:37Like I said, the one thing I wish they would have done is Sami Zayn go out and, like, cut

02:41some of these promos after winning matches.

02:45And, like, oh, wow, he just, like, he beats Kaiser.

02:49But aside from, like, he's not beating anyone.

02:51And the last big match we saw, he lost.

02:53So, I think that there needs to be a little bit more, instead of just, like, I have decided

02:58I'm going to be the one going for the championship now.

03:00Like, at any point, Gunther could have said, well, you gotta beat this guy.

03:04Ah, well, now you gotta beat this guy.

03:05Oh, and you gotta beat him.

03:06Oh, and you gotta do this.

03:07And you gotta do that.

03:08Right?

03:09Like, you have a big enough roster.

03:10Few of them can afford to lose a match or two.

03:12Right?

03:13So, have him go out and beat whoever.

03:15You can't do it now, because he's hurt.

03:16But Ilya Dragunov, a couple of weeks ago.

03:18Or someone along those lines.

03:19Like, just go out and win some matches.

03:22And I think that would have driven home the case more and more and more.

03:24It's like, I've already beat you.

03:26I'm beating all of these guys.

03:28Each and every week.

03:29Why am I not getting this opportunity?

03:30Instead of, I already beat you, and I lost the Intercontinental title.

03:34But aside from that, what else do I have to do?

03:36I think that could have been just done a little bit better, in my opinion.

03:40But overall, I think it's good.

03:42Bron Breaker gets a bit of a run-in with Gunther.

03:44I think that'd be too quick.

03:45I would like to see him have an actual main card feud before, like, post-IC title, before

03:50we just throw him in off an Intercontinental title loss.

03:54Dragunov's injury, bit of a bummer.

03:56And that kind of sucks.

03:58I'm still not all the way there on Judgment Day vs. Terror Twins.

04:04There's just...

04:06I don't know what it is about some of it, where it's...

04:10More specifically, the Damien Priest side.

04:13Against Finn Balor, more so than, like, the Liv and Rhea stuff I actually think has been

04:17built up pretty good.

04:20I know his dirty secret!

04:21He's claustrophobic!

04:23Was kinda dumb, and not something that I was overly entertained by, and it just, it felt

04:28a little bit forced to, like, explaining after the fact why we're doing it.

04:31So that was a little annoying.

04:33But that part has been good.

04:34But I'm just, I'm not clicking with this new Damien Priest character.

04:38And something we talked about a while ago, where they have these badass heels, and it's

04:42something the whole wrestling industry has struggled with, right?

04:43It's something that Swerve struggled with for a bit.

04:45Like, you have this badass, big-ass kicker as a heel, and now we're turning him babyface,

04:50and he, his lingo is just, has to be a little bit more relatable, and he has to be a little

04:55bit more funny, and just kinda like, the cool kid in school.

04:57I was like, no, the reason we liked him before, because he was kicking dudes' heads off!

05:00So just keep doing that!

05:01Just keep, like, basically, do everything that you were doing before, just for good,

05:08now instead for evil, and we'll love you for it.

05:10But I think there's too many times they try to make it a bit too cute, and so that

05:13doesn't really work.

05:14But, now, to Bad Blood.

05:16Um, I guess quickly here, before we get into the full breakdown, Conrad saying, Crazy Steve

05:21for Halloween Havoc.

05:22Oh, yeah.

05:23Um, like, the whole Decay, and former Decay, and whatever, um, like, Crazy Steve and Rosemary

05:31and all of them, for Halloween Havoc, 100%.

05:33Yeah.

05:34Totally.

05:35Um, and I think a big spot you'll see it is, like, the, like, the WrestleMania weekend

05:39stuff, when there's all those people around.

05:41I think that you can have something with that.

05:43I would like to see them expand it a little bit more.

05:45Um, like, we've seen them kinda, uh, someone was off in the N1, in Noah, um, and those

05:50sorts of things.

05:51I would like to see more talent come into WWE from those particular brands, um, and

05:56do some stuff with them as well, and just kind of keep that forbidden door kind of open.

06:01Um, but I think there's a few, few different, um, options you can go, and a few different

06:06ways you can go, but 100%.

06:08For Halloween Havoc, I think that the dark stuff has kind of been overdone in pro wrestling,

06:12but Halloween Havoc is Halloween Havoc.

06:13Come on.

06:14We gotta do that, right?

06:15Like, so you gotta have Crazy Steve coming in and, uh, doing some stuff there.
