00:00I guess from your perspective and everything that goes into this, how did this all come together and how big
00:05is this for something like this to be coming to Okotoks and here in Southern Alberta?
00:10This has been something that's been many, many, many years in the making and there's been many hands that have
00:18played a part in making it happen.
00:21A lot of kudos goes to, you know, obviously Baseball Canada, Jason Dixon, Greg Hamilton.
00:28I remember years ago, Greg and I having a conversation about this, you know, and it was going to be
00:35a little bit different of a format, but the same principle.
00:39We were very committed to the academies and also the elite travel programs coming together and having one major tournament
00:54because there was nothing for them.
00:56So, let's fast forward now, you know, our Dawgs managing director, John Arcandia, kind of picked up the ball and
01:04ran with it.
01:06And, you know, now we're partnering with Baseball Canada in this event.
01:11And it's going to be huge for, and I spoke about Canada and it's going to be a new era
01:18for amateur baseball in Canada.
01:19But I think the fact that the WBSC, which is the world organization, governing organization for baseball and softball, just
01:30this week put out a release mentioning the road to Okotoks.
01:35So, for, you know, for a small town of Okotoks to be getting, you know, mentioned on the world stage,
01:44I think that's huge for baseball, not just here in Okotoks, but Alberta, Canada, and obviously across the world.
01:52So, let's go.
