00:16lazy. He would always postpone today's work for tomorrow and tomorrow's work on the day
00:23after tomorrow. Because of this habit, all his work would get delayed and then later
00:32he would repent. Due to laziness in studies also, he was lagged behind all the other students
00:40of the Gurukul. Master was aware of this habit of his disciple and was concerned about it.
00:50One day he found a way to teach a lesson to his disciple. He went to his disciple, gave
00:57him a black stone and said, Son, take this stone. This is not an ordinary stone. This
01:06is a philosopher's stone. The speciality of this stone is that if you rub any iron with
01:12this stone, that iron will turn into gold. I am giving this black stone to you. With
01:20the help of this stone, you can turn iron into gold and get as much as gold as you want.
01:28I am going out for a day and I will come back by tomorrow evening. Till then, you keep it.
01:37When I will come back, I will take it back from you. Saying this, the master turned back
01:43to leave. He paused for a moment and again said to his disciple, Remember, you have time
01:51till tomorrow evening. Then master turned and left from there. Now that lazy disciple
01:59kept thinking, Wow, I have a philosopher's stone. Now I can make as much as gold I want.
02:09I have a lot of time and I will make a lot of gold. Then he thought, where from will
02:15I arrange so much iron? Then he thought, I will go to the market, buy a lot of scrap
02:23iron from the market and then will turn that iron into gold with the help of this stone.
02:31Then he thought, now it is evening time and night is about to fall. So I should have food
02:38now and go to sleep. Tomorrow morning I will go to market, buy a lot of iron scrap and
02:47then make gold of it. The lazy disciple ate food and went to sleep. While sleeping, he
02:56made many dreams of becoming rich tomorrow. Next morning, when he woke up, he thought,
03:04I have time till evening. I will have breakfast now and then I will go to the market to buy
03:11iron to make gold. After some time, when he finished his food, he started feeling sleepy.
03:19Then he thought, master will come back in the evening. So I have time till evening.
03:26What is the need of such a hurry? I should take rest for some time now and then after
03:32that I will go out to market and buy iron. Thinking this, he laid down to take rest.
03:39While resting, he fell asleep. When he woke up, he saw that the sun was about to set and
03:48evening time was approaching. Now he had to go and buy iron from the market to make gold.
03:57He got up quickly and as soon as he came out of the hermitage to leave for the market,
04:04he found his master at the doorstep. The master had come back. Master took that stone
04:11back from him and said, your time is up. The disciple begged a lot and started pleading
04:19to the master to let him allow to keep stone for some time more. But master did not listen
04:25to him and said, a lazy person like you cannot do anything in his life. You had 24 hours
04:34in which you could make as much as gold as you wanted. But because of your laziness,
04:41you could not do anything. I will not give you this stone even for a second. And this
04:47is the punishment for your laziness. The man who does not value time cannot do anything
04:55in his life. The disciple was standing embarrassed. He could not do anything now. He had missed
05:03a golden opportunity to get rich because of his laziness. But he had now understood the
05:11lesson which his master wanted to teach him. In front of his master, he vowed never to
05:18be lazy and always make good use of his time.
05:25If we see in our lives, we will find that it happens with all of us sometimes. Sometimes
05:33we become lazy and start to delay our work for tomorrow. But tomorrow never comes. And
05:40whenever it comes, it comes in the form of present. If you want to do something, then
05:46do it now because the wheel of time is never going to stop. It will always keep moving.
05:54And if we could not complete our work on time, then our condition will also be like that
06:01disciple who could not use his time well due to his laziness and missed a great opportunity.
06:09Therefore, always remember that you can get everything by giving your time, but you cannot
06:16get time back by giving your everything. Therefore, never put off till tomorrow what
06:24you can do today because you may delay, but time will not.
