00:00Once upon a time, a man went to Gautam Buddha and asked,
00:13O Lord, please tell me, what is the worth of human life?
00:18Gautam Buddha smiled and gave him a shining stone and said,
00:24First go and find the worth of this stone.
00:27Go to different shops in the market and tell them that you want to sell this stone.
00:33But remember, don't sell this stone in any case.
00:37The man got puzzled with Buddha's reply.
00:41But without saying anything, he took the stone and went to the market.
00:46First he went to an orange seller and asked him about the worth of the stone.
00:53Then seller took the stone in hand, looked it and replied, I will give a dozen of oranges
01:01for this stone.
01:03The man took that stone back and went to a vegetable vendor and asked him the same question.
01:11The vendor also took the stone in hand, looked at it and said, take a sack of potatoes and
01:19leave this shining stone.
01:21The man was still not satisfied with all these answers.
01:25So he kept going on.
01:28Next he went to a goldsmith and showed him the stone.
01:33Goldsmith was amazed by the shine of the stone and said, sell me this stone for one lakh
01:40gold coins.
01:42The man was surprised to hear this offer, but he refused this offer.
01:48The goldsmith then got ready to pay him five lakh gold coins.
01:53The man said, my teacher has told me not to sell this stone to anyone.
01:59Finally, the man went to a diamond merchant and showed him the stone.
02:05When diamond merchant saw this beautiful and shining stone, he could not believe his eyes.
02:11He was mesmerized by the beauty of the stone.
02:15The diamond merchant first laid down a red velvet cloth and then placed that stone on
02:21it and bowed before it.
02:24Then he asked the man, where did you find this precious stone?
02:29Then he said, even after selling the whole world, we cannot estimate the worth of this
02:35ruby stone.
02:37This is priceless and invaluable.
02:40The man got puzzled with the variety of the experience he just had with different people
02:46and went straight back to Lord Buddha.
02:50Then he narrated his story to Buddha and asked him, Lord, please tell me now, what is the
02:57worth of human life?
03:00Buddha smiled and replied, You see, my friend, the orange seller quoted 12 oranges for this
03:07stone.
03:09The vegetable vendor said one sack of potatoes.
03:12Goldsmith valued the stone at five lakh gold coins.
03:17And finally, the diamond merchant said that this stone is invaluable.
03:24The same is true for human life.
03:27In fact, you are a gem, but people around you will value you according to their status,
03:34knowledge, and capacity.
03:37But do not worry, as this world will also identify and find your true value one day.
03:48If we see in our lives, then we will find that often people do not know their own worth,
03:55and that's why they settle for far less than they deserve.
03:59The value of your life depends on where you place yourself.
04:04People will understand your value as much as you will value yourself.
04:10If you underestimate your worth, then you will get less from this world.
04:15And if you feel yourself worthy, then you will get more out of this world.
04:21Most of the people just allow anyone to evaluate their worth.
04:26But people who know their true value will just refuse to accept the opinions of others.
04:33They refuse to be defined by anyone because they know that their value is set by themselves,
04:40not someone else's opinion of what they are worth.
04:45Therefore, don't let people put a price on you and you set your own price.
