00:00DIGITALIZATION, INNOVATION AND SUSTAINABILITY
00:07These are the main themes of the latest edition of Infrastructure Academy,
00:11the event organized by ILTI Italy in collaboration with ICE.
00:15It is a key moment to discuss the future of infrastructures,
00:18in which all players in the sector stop to reflect on the path taken and share the vision of the future.
00:25The importance of today is that infrastructures are often associated with the PNRR project.
00:30Today we want to go beyond the project, beyond the construction site,
00:34to have a more end-to-end vision, from planning to design to construction site,
00:39with a focus on sustainability.
00:42The goal is to clarify that it is important to have this more holistic vision,
00:46so that all the elements that we consider, digitization and, above all, sustainability,
00:51must start in the mountains, in the phase of planning and then of design.
00:55Infrastructures are a fundamental element to guarantee the economic growth of the country.
01:00For this reason, they must be designed and built according to directives
01:03that focus on aspects of sustainability, innovation, functionality and security.
01:08It is very important today to think in terms of life cycle,
01:17so a project must be conceived with the help of the community.
01:21Therefore, first of all, it is important to understand the needs of the community,
01:29how to best use the resources of the territory.
01:32Then there is the phase of planning, there is the phase of construction.
01:36Also on this, ICE has made a position paper on the sustainable construction site.
01:40And then we must not forget the management and maintenance part of the works.
01:45The construction market in Italy is experiencing a phase of transition,
01:49marked by challenges and opportunities related to the end of the super bonus and the implementation of the PNRR.
01:54According to the 36th report of Cresme,
01:57the sector has recorded a contraction in the last two quarters of 2024,
02:02but the future seems promising, especially for public works,
02:05which by 2026 could exceed for the first time investments in residential re-qualifications.
02:11We have been introducing protocols already in the design phase,
02:16protocols such as Envision, which allow us to define quantitatively
02:21those that can be the benefits of an infrastructure project on the territory.
02:27Also as regards the phase of realization,
02:30we are implementing methodologies to realize the roads,
02:37which, for example, significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
02:45The ACADEMY infrastructure therefore represents a strategic appointment
02:48to transform current challenges into opportunities for sustainable growth,
02:52with the aim of guiding the construction sector
02:55towards a more innovative and respectful future of the environment.
