Gemma Collins has told Good Morning Britian that she wants to become a foster carer after becoming inspired by her own mother's childhood in foster care and rediscovering new family members afet appearing on tyhe TV show Who Do You Think You Are?

00:00At home is where Gemma Collins is happiest. But she knows not everyone is as lucky.

00:07The reality star invited us to her house in Essex to discuss her next big role as a foster carer.

00:14There's a lot of love I can give. I always make a good dinner.

00:18It's a subject close to Gemma's heart. Her mum Joan was in foster care from birth.

00:23I saw the adoption papers and it was so sweet. They'd put on there like you need to sew her clothes.

00:29Make sure she's not got any holes in her socks and all stuff like that. I was like one of the lucky ones.

00:36There were so many rooms that are spare across London and the UK.

00:41Joan grew up knowing little about her family.

00:45But Gemma managed to trace their roots back to East London in a recent episode of Who Do You Think You Are?

00:51She remembered a cousin and we went on to find her and she's coming round this weekend for a curry.

00:57That is the wholesome values that so many people forget in today's society.
