00:39what is your motivation, what inspired you to form this organization?

00:45I used to be a player when I was young.

00:50Back then, the image of billiards was of gambling, alcohol, and bars.

00:57I didn't see a clear career path in billiards.

01:02In short, there was no future.

01:06It's sad to say, but that's the truth.

01:09Actually, even in schools, when you play billiards, it's like you're given a major offense right away.

01:14Yes, because some people cut classes to play billiards.

01:18If you think about it, basketball players do the same thing.

01:23They cut classes because they have to practice or play a game.

01:27The only thing about billiards is that it's not sanctioned by the school.

01:31Athletes who play billiards go to school and play outside.

01:36So maybe if the school has a program of billiards or varsity billiards,

01:43the kids don't have to cut classes.

02:04We did the regular stuff like tournaments, exhibition games for the players.

02:12I observed why billiards players, even though we already have a tournament,

02:17they still gamble outside.

02:20They still play money games.

02:22So I studied other sports like basketball, soccer.

02:27They have leagues.

02:29Players get a salary and they have contracts.

02:32So I thought, why don't we make a league in billiards with teams?

02:36Because there are a lot of players here in the Philippines, unlike in other countries.

02:40The format is actually a season-long tournament or a season-long league.

02:47In this case, in our first season, we have four teams.

02:50And then three months, they will play.

02:52All over the Philippines?

02:54Four teams are Quezon City, Manila, Taguig, and Negros Occidental.

03:00But for the second season next year, we're hoping to get an additional two more teams.
