Wild Rose is a story about a young woman who has found herself in jail
00:06
and she is obsessed with country music.
00:16
When I first saw the film I was like, how amazing to see a female character like this
00:21
allowed to absolutely let rip a working class woman, a Glaswegian woman.
00:27
I was like, bring it on!
00:41
Wild Rose I think is really, really important today as a story because to do what you love
00:48
even if you have, you know, no matter what responsibilities you might have
00:52
but not forgetting about where you come from and who it is that you are
00:57
and not running away from that, pursuing that dream, but doing it for you.
01:08
When I was 17 years old I just wanted away from home, away from responsibilities, away from stuff
01:13
and I felt like going somewhere different would be better for me and now I'm home.
01:27
When audiences come and see Wild Rose they're going to feel a number of things.
01:54
I think they're going to have their kind of heart ripped open in all the best of ways.
02:02
You will be crying and then two minutes later you'll be howling with laughter.
02:14
You don't have to be into theatre or musical theatre to enjoy this.
02:17
Come and have a walloping night out.
02:20
And also it's about Scotland, the fact that we're Scottish and we're amazing at what we do.
