A couple bought a "mouldy" abandoned Italian villa for €200k - and are spending another €200k renovating it to its former glory.

Roger, 49, and Mirella Bloomingdale, 54, had always wanted to move to Italy for a "easy" pace of life.

They started looking for homes and stumbled across the three story villa in Cupra Marittima, Italy, two years ago and fell in love.

After visiting the huge home - which comes with 2000m2 - they bought it for €200k.

They now plan to transform it back to its former glory with a ground floor living space, five bedrooms, four bathrooms and a library.
