‘I visited the ‘best’ noodle restaurant in London’

We head to Noodle Inn, a viral sensation that, apparently, is serving up the best noodles in London.

00:00Soho has a new hotspot and now it's a viral sensation.

00:05The Noodle Inn on Old Compton Street has been dubbed

00:08the best Chinese restaurant in the capital.

00:11With Noodle Inn opening at 12,

00:13I thought heading down for 12.15

00:15would mean avoiding the queues, but how wrong I was.

00:18It was a 50 minute wait

00:20for most customers arriving at that time.

00:23Luckily though, because I was riding solo,

00:26I managed to sneak in ahead of the queue

00:28and sit front and center right by the kitchen.

00:31There was just a sheet of glass

00:33to prevent steam from filling the restaurant

00:36between the counter seats

00:37and where the noodle magic happens.

00:40But it made for quite a showing,

00:42watching the masters at work carving noodles

00:44into a pan full of boiling water.

00:48The white noodles known as bang bang noodles

00:50are a Xi'an specialty.

00:51And honestly, as you step into this place,

00:54it really does feel like you could be

00:56in a buzzing restaurant,

00:57tucked away down an alley in China.

01:00The smells and spices transported me to the Far East,

01:04but for me, the food is the second best thing

01:06about this place.

01:07What makes this place worth visiting

01:09above anything else is the atmosphere.

01:12I asked a waiter for the best thing on the menu

01:15and without hesitating,

01:16she told me to get the beef shin wide noodle.

01:19And let me tell you guys, it did not disappoint.

01:23I'm not the best with chopsticks and I won't lie,

01:24it's pretty difficult separating the beef shin

01:27and mixing it in with the long chewy noodles and chili oil,

01:30but a mouthful of everything together is heavenly.

01:33I was eating by around 12.30

01:35and personally felt this was a little bit too early

01:38for something this decadent.

01:40I can imagine on a late night when it's raining outside

01:43and it's acceptable to have a cold beer,

01:45this will genuinely be one of the best feeds in London.
