Germany begins recruiting workers from Kenya

Kenya's labor agreement with Germany has come into force. Some 500 professionals will depart in the coming months for jobs in Germany, but concerns over brain drain persist.

00:00We can see already, if we compare the third quarter of this year with the third quarter

00:29of last year, for example, in the fields of nurses, it's a very significant development.

00:37But we are coming from between 20 and 30 nurses last year to about 90 nurses this year in

00:45the third quarter.

00:59Us we see it as an opportunity to share with the world what we have been blessed with,

01:05and that is robust, young, educated, talented people.

01:18I want to continue with my career in which I studied.

01:21I have a bachelor's in health records and information management, and I wish to push

01:27it further to see how data will be shared across the hospitals.

01:31As we all know, there is a problem with job opportunities in Kenya, and as a young person,

01:35we are currently trying to set our feet in foreign countries to try and look for other

01:41opportunities.
