00:08Very good performance from Newcastle today, I thought they fully deserved that point.

00:13Physically it took a lot out of Newcastle, as you'd expect against the Premier League champions,

00:17it always requires a lot of physical work to get something from Pep Guardiola's side

00:21and I thought every man on that pitch today give that.

00:241 from 11, physically excellent and they had a star boy in Anthony Gordon who got them a point in the end.

00:34Anthony Gordon is probably a good place to start really.

00:37Obviously Alexander Isak ruled out with a toe injury, you might not see him until after the international break.

00:45It was Anthony Gordon that led the line and he was excellent.

00:49He epitomised everything about Newcastle today, absolutely relentless in his press,

00:52made some really intelligent runs behind.

00:55A tough start to the season, Anthony Gordon looked way off his levels of last season,

00:59but that was him back to his best today and that's everything you associate with Anthony Gordon.

01:04Fully deserved his goal which came from the penalty spot.

01:08Joseph Guavial opened the score in the first half but Newcastle kept at it.

01:13It was a ball by Bruno in behind to Gordon who was fouled by Ederson and then Gordon stepped up and converted the penalty.

01:20A real cool penalty from him.

01:22Newcastle had to dig deep, many stages in that game.

01:26It took me a lot of stages, Nick Cole to pull off an incredible save.

01:30I don't know if you remember, or Phil Foden it was, who he pulled off an incredible save for in stoppage time.

01:36Newcastle's back line faced a lot of Manchester City pressure.

01:40I don't think Manchester City were at their best today to be honest,

01:43I think they obviously missed Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne but they've still got quality players

01:47when they're bringing off the likes of Phil Foden, Jeremy Dotto, Savino as well off the bench.

01:52Real quality they had and that's what they did with Newcastle, matched them and they were fully deserving of the points.

01:58A big reaction from that weekend, it was a really poor display down at Fulham.

02:01They faced a lot of criticism because of that but they put in a performance today.

02:06A lot of talk in recent weeks has been, what is Newcastle United's intensity?

02:09For me, Newcastle United's intensity is exactly what we've seen today.

02:12Hard work, determination and they got a deserved point.
