CELÉNE

Celéne is an atmospheric Black Metal band from Patras formed in 2014 by guitarist Dionysis Maratos, originally as a post black quartet. Along the way, additional influences such as gothic/doom and classical music were embodied to form the Celéne’s early sound. The band’s debut release was the concept album "Natale Tenebris", a modern gothic metal oratorio, which was released at the beginning of 2016 with the contribution of the polyphonic band of Patras in the choir session.

The second consecutive concept album titled "Rêves de Novembre d'Or" is a musical psychograph and moves in more atmospheric doom sound and lyrical paths alongside the gothic black style, with the main characteristics of the violin and the female lead vocals accompanied by harsh growls.

Celéne have participated in various music events including "Noise me me Up" and "Artware Festival" and has been an opening act for acts such as Firewind (2017), Antimatter (2019) and Enemy of Reality (2023).

During the pandemic of 2020 – 2022 the scheme underwent a restructuring of members, returning to the original Post-Black Metal sound as a quartet. The upcoming album "Forlorn Paradise" features a rawer, more minimalistic and direct sound approach, keeping however the lyrical and atmospheric style intact.

"Forlorn Paradise" was released under the aegis of Sleaszy Rider SRL on the 7th of July 2023.
