00:25which is a Nobel Prize because it traced a herb with which it was substantially able to provide the key to defeat malaria.
00:38And let's say another confirmation that in neurosciences the application of Chinese traditional medicine is fantastic,
00:48it brings benefits that, among other things, marry, as for the whole of Chinese acupuncture,
00:57with a great ability to save health care facilities in health care spending.
01:05The second issue that escapes the attention of the general public is that Chinese traditional medicine,
01:13millenaria per tradizione, has a function of prevention that has been greatly appreciated over the millennia in China,
01:26but which, with the progression of the technologies that we have available in the West,
01:34could provide an even more useful tool to save on health care expenses, which are now rising in a terrible way.

02:20I promoted a master's degree in Chinese acupuncture, which was very successful,
02:28and which is now being extended in the university by what has been done in recent years in the University of Tor Vergata.
02:38I believe that the particularity of associating all the experience and technology of Western medicine with Chinese traditional medicine has a huge cultural value.
02:54All the traditions of medicine applied to the therapies of man, which come from millennia of various cultures,
03:06in particular the Chinese one, obviously have an intrinsic validity, otherwise they would not have been applied for thousands of years.
03:16There is a very, very important integration between the principles of Western medicine and the principles of Chinese traditional medicine,
03:28as demonstrated by the master's degrees that we have activated,
03:32because this also corresponds to an extremely growing demand in Western countries for the performance of Chinese traditional medicine.
03:45Among other things, for chronic abdominal pathologies, there is a perfect integration between the two medicines,
03:54because the diagnosis is made on the basis of the criteria of traditional medicine, and the therapy is very successfully treated with acupuncture.
