00:00My involvement in running has been over many years, since I was able to walk I guess, but
00:05throughout the years I've won world titles and record titles, and in 1994 I won the world
00:14800 metres, so there's always been that impetus to keep running and stay fit, but even though
00:23it's taken its toll on my knees, I'm still committing myself because exercise is fantastic.
00:29And you were a former police officer, how long have you been retired for, and what keeps
00:34you coming back to the Games?
00:35I was in the police force for 36 years, I've been retired for, what's that, 96, no, 26,
00:44nearly 20 odd years, it's just the thrill of the competition, and the want to stay active
00:53and healthy, it gives me a reason to get up and running.
00:56And what's the secret that keeps you running?
00:59Ah, just the, I guess the past glories I guess, how I've been successful, but staying
01:06fit and keeping fit, I just love exercise, and I think that's the main impetus of why
01:13I keep running and competing every time.
