00:00The Department of Foreign Affairs, or DFA, is calling on our countrymen who have relatives in Lebanon
00:06to convince them to return to the Philippines even if they are used to the crisis
00:11because they will not be forced by our government.
00:14DFA Assistant Secretary Robert Ferrer insisted that our government can only do voluntary repatriation
00:21because this is also what other countries are forcing.
00:24Those living in Lebanon should also take advantage of the government's voluntary repatriation program
00:31while there are still available commercial flights and the situation in Beirut remains stable.
00:38There is no shortage of budget or funds for repatriation efforts,
00:42but they will not force our countrymen to return home.
00:46Meanwhile, Ferrer insisted that no Filipino was injured or injured in the attack on Hespola.
00:55So far, the areas being targeted are only southern Lebanon and Dania neighborhood in southern Beirut.
01:04We cannot force our countrymen to go home.
01:07Ambassador Balatbat conducted a consultation with the community leaders in Lebanon
01:14and all of them, almost unanimous, are opposed to any mandatory repatriation by the Philippine government.
01:23Now, we're a democracy here in the Philippines.
01:26We are also a democracy abroad.
01:28They're used to the crisis there.
01:30However, we are processing more than 1,000 requests for voluntary repatriation.
01:35That's one out of ten so far.
