00:17Number 10, Arabian Nights, Aladdin.
00:20This opening song to Disney's 1992 Aladdin
00:23initially possessed a very different set of lyrics.
00:27Come on down, stop on by, hop a carpet and fly
00:31to another Arabian night.
00:35The original version of both the film
00:38and its accompanying CD soundtrack
00:40featured a line in the opening song
00:42which referenced dismemberment and brutality
00:44in the protagonist's homeland.
00:46It was seen by some, including the American Arab
00:49Anti-Discrimination Committee, as disparaging and insulting.
00:53The offending line was altered instead
00:56to reflect the oppressive heat of the region.
00:58Where it's flat and immense and the heat is intense.

01:50occurred on Punky Brewster, specifically

01:56A similar scene was edited and changed
01:58from 2002's Lilo and Stitch, where Lilo is
02:01seen hiding inside of a dryer.
02:16In newer releases of the film, for example, the one
02:18that appears on Disney+, the dryer door
02:20has been replaced with a pizza box
02:22so that children watching at home
02:24won't get any ideas about copying Lilo's stunt.
02:35Number eight, Banned, Song of the South.
02:38This controversial Disney film from 1946
02:41may be only partially animated, but its legacy
02:45as one of the company's most discussed time
02:47capsules remains secure.
02:53It's true that Song of the South contains one of Disney's
02:56earliest hit movie tunes, Zippity-Doo-Dah, which
02:59actually won the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
03:12However, the film has also widely
03:14been criticized for racist content,
03:16and it's not the first time that it's been criticized.
03:23including the diminishing or otherwise glorifying
03:26of enslavement.
03:27A complete version of the film has yet
03:29to be released on home video in the US,
03:31although Song of the South can be found on VHS and Laserdisc
03:35in Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
03:47Number seven, Otika and Sunflower, Fantasia.
03:51Fantasia remains an important step in the Disney evolution
03:55thanks to its unique assembly of classical music
03:57and gorgeous hand-drawn animation.
04:06However, the versions of Fantasia
04:09available to view today contain a very different take
04:12of the film's pastoral symphony sequence.
04:15The movement is set to Beethoven and features
04:17frolicking animated centaurs.
04:22Among these beasts are a pair of female African-American centaurs
04:26named Sunflower and Otika.
04:28Both were animated with over-the-top, culturally
04:31insensitive features.
04:33Otika and Sunflower were also depicted
04:35as being subservient to the other centaurs.
04:38The pair were edited out for future prints of the movie.
04:42Number six, Casting Couch, Toy Story 2.
04:45The term casting couch gained more infamy
04:48than ever in the aftermath of the Me Too movement.

04:53In fact, it was in light of the movement
04:55that this Toy Story 2 mid-credits scene was cut.
