00:00Hi there, my name's Will Atherton and I'm a reporter at the Lancashire Post.

00:06And today we're going to be talking to the people of Preston about all things pizza.

00:10We're in Preston talking about pizza. Can I just ask you first of all, what's your favourite type of pizza?

00:16Meat Feast.

00:17Meat Feast. And what's the best pizza you'd say you've ever had?

00:22It's probably from my local.

00:25So, erm...

00:28Philosophical Kebab House. Definitely.

00:31If that place is not open I refuse to have a takeout pizza.

00:34You realise when you go to Italy just how almost westernised we've made...

00:38As much as I love Meat Feast, when you go to Italy it is cheese and mushrooms.

00:46There's no multiple toppings. It is cheese and something.

00:52It's completely different. The crust is completely different.

00:57And would you say their pizza is better than ours?

01:02Yes.

01:07You can tell that that's actually how pizza's meant to be.

01:10Whereas we've obviously doubled down on almost the unhealthiness.

01:15So, what's your favourite type of pizza?

01:18I'd probably go for a pepperoni.

01:20Pepperoni. And where's the best place that you've found to get pizza?

01:24I would probably go...

01:27Probably my local one as well.

01:30And whereabouts is that?

01:31That's in Britain. Just outside of Bordeaux.

01:34Brilliant. And have you ever been into Italy?

01:37I have been to Italy.

01:38And would you say their pizza's better than ours?

01:41It's different. It's thinner. It's just different.

01:50It's like comparing apples and oranges.

01:54Ours is very westernised. Well, Americanised.

01:58New York Americanised with lots of toppings and different bases.

02:02Whereas Italy is very thin crust.

02:05Do you reckon Preston's a good place to get pizza?

02:08Yeah, Preston in general, yeah. Pizza's good in Preston.

02:11You can get franchise pizza. You can get independent pizza.

02:15What's your favourite type of pizza?

02:17Meat feast.

02:18And what in particular do you like about meat feast?

02:21I like the variety of toppings that it offers and they all go very well together.

02:27When was the last time you ate pizza?

02:29Three days ago.

02:30Would you say that Italian style pizza or American style pizza is better?

02:35American style pizza.

02:37And why is that?

02:38I prefer the thicker and chewier dough, the Italian.

02:44Where's your favourite place in Preston to get pizza?

02:47Firewater's my favourite place.

02:49I like the toppings. They're all really fresh and the dough's nice and crispy.
