CFMEU protests continue in Sydney and Melbourne CBDs

Thousands of furious construction workers have again taken to the streets of Sydney and Melbourne. It’s the second time this month that they've protested against the government's decision to force the construction arm of their scandal-plagued union into administration. The workers are promising to cause problems for Labor at the next election.

00:40allegations of criminal infiltration, bullying and corruption.

00:46Astrid NSW Secretary Darren Greenfield, who is currently facing bribery charges, was given

00:52a hero's welcome as he accused the government of waging war.

01:07There is no way that any government of any political persuasion could have ignored the

01:12allegations that we've seen come through.

01:15The union also flexed its muscle in Melbourne, blocking bus and tram routes on a march through

01:23the city.

01:24Today's action comes after the administrator of the CFMEU outlined how he'd force bikies

01:32out of both the union and construction companies and pushed state and federal policing agencies

01:38to back his broadening investigation.

01:40With 300,000 workers, would there be some bikers at work in the Victorian construction

01:45industry?

01:46Absolutely.

01:47That is no reason to directly attack the living standards of 100,000 construction workers.

01:55Workers who won't go down without a fight.
