The case accused the retailer of "scanner violations"—charging higher prices at checkout than the advertised price. Home Depot did not admit wrongdoing but agreed to new measures, including always using the lowest posted price and hiring a price accuracy watchdog. According to a May proxy statement, Home Depot reported nearly $22 billion in operating profit for the 2023 fiscal year.
