Manchester United defeated Barnsley 7-0 in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night thanks to braces from Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Christian Eriksen as well a penalty from Antony.

00:12It was a night in which United's class shone through.

00:16Something we've not been able to say too often in Eric Ten Haag's reign and certainly not this season either.

00:21United built upon their productive weekend win over Southampton with a fantastic attacking display.

00:27And they were also good in defence as well.

00:30Obviously there's not going to be too much credit for United when they've won 7-0 for their defensive work.

00:35Altai Baende was one of eight changes in goal.

00:38He hardly had anything to do.

00:40Jonny Evans and Harry Maguire were both very good at centre-back.

00:43Toby Collier and Diogo Dalot were quite Irish games at full-back.

00:47But both can be very proud of the work that they did.

00:49For the standout stars, well there's three of them.

00:52Christian Eriksen grabbed a brace with two brilliant late goals.

00:55He'd also set up Alejandro Garnaccio for one of his two.

00:59Marcus Rashford got the official man of the match.

01:01It could have been a toss of a coin between him and Garnaccio.

01:05United, well they need to use this as a stepping stone going forward.

01:08As we've said in the past, the Carabao Cup can be a good way for United to have that springboard.

01:14But they never usually win games by such a margin.

01:18Prior to tonight, the most they'd scored in a game under Ten Haag was four.

01:21They got five, then six and then seven.

01:24United weren't for the jugular, they weren't for the kill.

01:26They boosted their confidence, they boosted their goal-scoring output as well.

01:31The Barnsley fans, well as you can still hear, they were superb tonight.

01:34They didn't stop singing throughout.

01:36But full-time, there was only one winner on the pitch.
