00:10Here's Bernadette Inoy's report.
00:14The meet-and-greet event of the Nation's Boyfriend and World No. 3 pole vaulter EJ Obiena was held in Paranaque City last Sunday.
00:2528-year-old athlete Halubino was also happy with his supporters,
00:30and he gave a line of programs to build pole vault pits in different parts of the country that can help aspiring athletes.
00:38I'm a bit shocked. It's quite a bit too much and I really apologize to everyone that was not able to come in.
00:44But thanks to them, you know, thanks to all of this, I'll be able to donate new pits all over the Philippines.
00:50His parents, coach Vitaly Petro and former world record holder Sergey Bubka were also present at the event.
00:57They said that if he can recover from an injury, EJ has a good chance of showing his skills again on the international stage.
01:04I think this year, if he can finish this pain, he will go forward.
01:10I think 6'10", 6'15", it's possible for him to jump.
01:14I hope. But he must do this.
01:18He must believe this. He's ready for this.
01:21This is fantastic progress, fantastic results.
01:24And as Vitaly said, EJ has good potential to jump 6'10", 6'15".
01:30And of course, I wish him all the best.
01:33Now, EJ will return to Italy to recover from his back injury and prepare for the World Championships next year.
