00:00There is no space that's too small to make critical conversations about what we can do

00:06to change and support the community.

00:08What's up y'all, it's Styx.

00:13And I'm back and it's been a pleasure being your host for Access Amplified, where MasterCard

00:18and Blavity have been highlighting change makers, leaders who are driving impact in

00:23their communities.

00:24In our last conversation, I got to hang out with Compton native John Hope Bryant.

00:28For my final stop, I'm hanging with Rachel Cargo, writer, entrepreneur, and activist.

00:34And we're talking about her commitment to racial justice.

00:37Let's go.

00:38The Loveland Foundation started after I had my own therapy sessions.

00:42I said to myself, every black woman deserves the opportunity to have the type of reflection

00:47from a therapist, getting the tools and support to move through life.

00:51And so as a birthday fundraiser, I started to raise money and I ended up raising $250k

00:57in just a few weeks.

00:59And it turned into a full-fledged foundation offering free therapy to black women, girls,

01:05and gender non-binary people.

01:07What does an inclusive society mean to you?

01:09I think it's offering access, that inclusivity speaks to the way that we all deserve that

01:16and really the way that we all will be better off if we give each other the opportunity

01:20to be well.

01:21I think companies like MasterCard understand that when the tide rises, we all are able

01:28to make progress.

01:29And so it's in small business owners that are doing big work on the ground in our local

01:33communities.

01:34Your platform doesn't have to be a collection of followers.

01:37It doesn't have to be a stage that you're on.

01:40Your platform is a way that you show up in the world.

01:42And so the wide range of access that MasterCard and many big organizations offer to these

01:49communities will only raise the whole of us as we continue to support their efforts.
