00:00:30Even during bad times and bad spells, I mean, he can score goals for fun anyway, so...
00:00:47He's a master at this trade.
00:00:50There's very few, you would say, world strikers at this moment in time, but I'd say Henny's
00:00:55up there.
00:00:56I think he's a world-class striker.
00:01:02You look at Henrik's record and it's simply fantastic.
00:01:05It's very impressive.
00:01:06It's frightening.
00:01:07It's a frightening strike, really.
00:01:09And I think because Henrik the person is very, very well liked in the dressing room, I think
00:01:15Henrik the footballer just goes with the territory.
00:01:19I thought that was absolutely never said.
00:01:21Absolutely brilliant.
00:01:22No.
00:01:23He's a great player.
00:01:24Yes, sure.
00:01:25He is.
00:01:26He's everything that we all think he is, and perhaps more.
00:01:29Good backing up.
00:01:30Good football towards Larson.
00:01:31He's in there.
00:01:32He's going to put it away.
00:01:33Sheer perseverance.
00:01:34And he places it beautifully in the corner.
00:01:35Those fans are delighted for Henrik Larson.
00:01:36He has really struck in the sunshine, didn't go for power, he went for precision.
00:02:05Larson is back.
00:02:06He is again almost in.
00:02:07Lambert took it beautifully, drilling it in.
00:02:08And I suspect it was a touch by Henrik Larson.
00:02:09Loads it in there.
00:02:10Back out it comes.
00:02:11Watch the drive in.
00:02:12Keep your eye on the ball.
00:02:13Yes, it was Larson.
00:02:14Good interception there by Muleby, and again, good play, Muleby, spreads it out wide, now
00:02:43he's got it.
00:02:44He's got it.

00:04:09He's got it.
00:04:11Larson strikes.
00:04:141-0.
00:04:1618 minutes gone.
00:04:19There'll be some debate about the award of the kick,
00:04:24but there's ever no great questions about Tamrick Larson's finishing.

00:13:11But for a week or two after that, I remember him saying
00:13:14that he didn't feel that he was back to the sort of sharpness
00:13:18that he would want it, and he felt a wee bit lethargic.
00:13:21Even so, he didn't realise himself perhaps
00:13:24how big a part he was playing in the side,
00:13:27and the side getting a bit of belief about themselves.
00:13:33Then the goals started to come, then his own performances,
00:13:37I think maybe through the goals or whatever it was,
00:13:40everything just seemed to gel.
00:13:43But I know that from the people, the players here
00:13:45that had worked with him beforehand said that
00:13:49not only was he back to his best, but his confidence
00:13:52was so high now at this minute that they felt
00:13:54he would go on to greater things.
00:13:56And I think they've been proved to be absolutely correct.
00:14:00Another half-check.
00:14:06Sutton, little ball inside, and that's it, second goal.
00:14:11Larsson blocks it away with the greatest of ease.
00:14:16It would pop flat, a delicate little one-two there with Sutton.
00:14:21And as the Finnish defence flamed offside,
00:14:24Henrik Larsson didn't bother with any complaints
00:14:27and slotted it in.
00:14:292-0 and 20 minutes of this first half still remaining.
00:14:38And that's it, lovely ball inside, Larsson tries to go on.
00:14:45Larsson opens the scoring for Celtic.
00:14:49Short of 10-20, a long ball, touched it to Larsson
00:14:52and squeezing it past the goalkeeper who I think
00:14:56might have made a better effort out of it than that.
00:15:26HALF-TIME WHISTLE
00:15:37O'Hara, Vega and Sutton all there.
00:15:42And also there is Henrik Larsson.
00:15:451-0 Celtic.
00:15:47A towering header from Henrik Larsson.
00:15:50The timing was perfection.
00:15:53Larsson's face on the right-hand side, there he is again,
00:15:56Donnelly, beautifully implied...
00:15:58Larsson's done it!
00:16:00Wonderful dive and header.
00:16:05HALF-TIME WHISTLE
00:16:07It's Henrik Larsson.
00:16:10And it's 1-1.
00:16:12And once again, a perfect penalty from a perfect player.
00:16:17HALF-TIME WHISTLE
00:16:19Concentration, look at the lovely face of Woody McKenzie.
00:16:23Steve Calkin on the near post, there's Henrik Larsson!
00:16:28Two goals in a few minutes for Henrik Larsson.
00:16:32And the marking from a Hotspur interview here is simply appalling.

00:17:14And for Henrik Larsson, that's a brilliant goal and that's Henrik Larsson's 50th league goal for Celtic.
00:17:30It's number 10 for the season and number 2 for Celtic from the afternoon.
00:17:38This was superb stuff.
00:17:40The foot, drop, not action, lovely ball in from Kroli.
00:17:46The goal for Celtic, the score was number 7, Henrik Larsson!
00:17:56He helped me a lot when I first signed for Celtic, it was a good feeling for me to have a Swede here
00:18:03because he could help me with all the things outside football, off the pitch, so it was great.
00:18:11He's a great friend to me and the good thing about him is that he stands with his feet on the earth all the time
00:18:20and he's never cocky or anything, he's a very professional guy.
00:18:25He's a great friend as well.
00:18:28Obviously I played against him in the beginning of our careers, in the beginning of the 90s when he played for Helsingborg.
00:18:36Obviously I think he only played one season in the top flight in Sweden and then he moved over to Feyenoord.
00:18:43But then I met him again with the national team and it was nice to team up with him over there.
00:18:58I would say he's an all-round player because he works so hard for the team as well.
00:19:03He's not an in-and-out striker all the time because he wants the ball and he can drop back to the midfield
00:19:11and keep the ball for the team as well.
00:19:14Even when I first met him in the national team I think he was more of a playmaker.
00:19:22A player that his best position was more of just behind the strikers.
00:19:28But then when I teamed up with him up here in Scotland I must say that his best position is to be a striker
00:19:37because he's deadly in the penalty box.
00:19:43It's very easy to play with Henrik.
00:19:46He always wants the ball and it's very easy if you're a defender or midfielder to play together with him
00:19:52because it's nice to have a striker that always wants to have the ball and try to turn
00:19:58and always have in his mind to score a goal.
00:20:04So it's very easy to play with him because his movement and his ability to control the ball is very impressive.
00:20:17And it goes.
00:20:19And this man is only three goals away from scoring his sixth game for the Clubs as he joined them.
00:20:26Celtic a one-up.
00:20:28Well it could be only one nomination for a penalty taker, he's scored twice already.
00:20:35And that is Henrik Larsson's hat-trick.
00:20:39Lachlan Moravcic in for Henrik Larsson.
00:20:43The last action of the first half and Celtic make it two.
00:20:49Larsson not picked up by Hibbs.
00:20:54Looking for a little bit of support, gets it not surprisingly from Lambert.
00:20:59And here's Larsson, yes.
00:21:04Larsson who's been able to elude the defenders with the greatest of ease
00:21:09left with nobody covering him there.
00:21:33And it goes and that's it. Larsson again.
00:21:40Henrik Larsson has this ability to pick his side up
00:21:44and he did it Aberdeen on the exact replica of the way he put it in the net at the Todway.
00:22:09And it's in.
00:22:40The first and foremost of the team.
00:22:42But when you look at somebody that's...
00:22:45You're looking for somebody that's probably scored the main bulk of the goals, it's gonna be Henrik.
00:22:49As I said so far, he's only 29, 30, whatever he is, he's got a long way to go.
00:22:55So far he's done unbelievable for this club.
00:22:57I think he's a brilliant player.
00:22:59I think he's a brilliant player.
00:23:01I think he's a brilliant player.
00:23:03I think he's a brilliant player.
00:23:04I think he's a brilliant player.
00:23:05I think he's a brilliant player.
00:23:06I think he's a brilliant player.
00:23:07So far he's done unbelievable for this.
00:23:11I probably think since he's been here he's probably blossomed
00:23:14probably way beyond his own expectation.
00:23:18Whereas now he could probably fit in any team in Europe
00:23:22without no problem at all.
00:23:38Mark Boudica took the mantle, unbelievable for us,
00:23:41and carried us through games where you never thought you were going to get a goal.
00:23:45Where the big game would always pop up with a bit of magic and score.
00:23:49It's just unfortunate from the club's point of view that
00:23:52you never get a great opportunity to play together.
00:23:55Mark, personally I think, was an unbelievable player.
00:24:00And I'm delighted to see what he's got now.
00:24:03Mark took the mantle when Henry went out and scored, I don't know, 30-odd goals.
00:24:08And he could be one player that could really, at the heights of football,
00:24:14he's only 24, whatever he is.
00:24:17Now here is the sight Celtic supporters have been waiting for
00:24:23for some considerable time.
00:24:25Ayelberkovic makes way, and it's the return, an emotional return,
00:24:30surely for Henrik Larsson.
00:24:36When he comes back you're always wary of his first tackle,
00:24:40everything's going to be OK, but I don't think anybody realised
00:24:44what was going to happen this season anyway,
00:24:47the amount of goals he's scored and the way he's performed.
00:24:50And if you ask any person that come and watch Celtic,
00:24:54then he's going to obviously be their favourite player.
00:24:58And he's done unbelievable things for here,
00:25:01and it'll be a great thing if the club can keep a hold of him.
00:25:06Maradjic sends it in, and Sturbs and Larsson are there!
00:25:11And it's turned in by Chris Sutton!
00:25:15Unbelievable!
00:25:17Chris Sutton makes an immediate impact on his own first debut,
00:25:23and Celtic are in front!
00:25:25Chris has come in and done unbelievable work for his team,
00:25:29he's scored a lot of goals as well,
00:25:32and he's taken a lot of the physical side off of Henrik,
00:25:37Chris takes the bumps and holds the ball up for us as well,
00:25:41and so far this season the two of them have done great together.
00:25:46All the great players work hard,
00:25:48they always say natural things come to me, doesn't it?
00:25:51All the great ones work hard, and that's what happens,
00:25:54you've got to have hard work along with your natural ability,
00:25:58and that's what he does, he's a great player,
00:26:01and he works hard at the game, it just doesn't come natural to him,
00:26:04you've got to go and work for it,
00:26:06and every game he works for the team,
00:26:08and that's why he gets every accolade that's going to him.
00:26:15Johnson, Larsson, surely this time...
00:26:23He had to get another one eventually, didn't he, Henrik Larsson?
00:26:27Makes it 25 goals for the season,
00:26:30and it's phenomenal,
00:26:32although in truth he might well have had four or five by now here,
00:26:36but that's 3-0.
00:26:39There it is, 2-0.
00:26:46And now he adds another goal to his alley,
00:26:48his ninth goal of the season.
00:26:51And Henrik Larsson's scarf held in the crowd there, very proudly.
00:26:56So, Henrik Larsson, who won the penalty kick, will now take it.
00:27:01And scores!
00:27:03That's a golden goal for Celtic.
00:27:061-1, and Martin O'Neill leads the celebrations,
00:27:1025 minutes gone.
00:27:12Romney went one way, the ball went the other.
00:27:16An object corner, and Larsson...
00:27:20has a hat-trick.
00:27:22Another glorious afternoon for Henrik Larsson,
00:27:26his 12th goal of the season.
00:27:30And Celtic's sixth in the afternoon.
00:27:33Now, but...
00:27:36virtually all the Dundee players back, and there's the header!
00:27:40Once again, Larsson got it.
00:27:42Makes it look so easy.
00:27:44He doesn't look the tallest player when he's in a crowded penalty area,
00:27:48but he has the effect of impeccable timing.
00:28:13Fast stop, totally, for Henrik Larsson!
00:28:18It's number three this time!
00:28:22And Celtic Park is bouncing!
00:28:27Seven minutes into the second half,
00:28:30and a three-goal lead for Celtic.
00:28:33And this could put it beyond Rangers at this stage in the game.
00:28:38Larsson to take it.
00:28:40Hat-trick.
00:28:413-1.
00:28:47Ravcic, drifting down, and beautifully, Larsson!
00:28:52Wonderful outside-of-foot pass by Ravcic,
00:28:55who takes a great deal of credit for the goal,
00:28:58even though Larsson gets his hat-trick.
00:29:00And that simple finish there,
00:29:02although simplicity itself stresses the value of the run
00:29:07and the vision of the Swedish international.
00:29:11That's towards Henrik Larsson.
00:29:14Brockback is in behind, here's Henrik Larsson!
00:29:18The opening goal, 21 minutes gone,
00:29:21and it's Larsson's 22nd goal of the season.
00:29:28That's the big breakthrough the Celtic supporters have been waiting for,
00:29:32the long goal from Trafford.
00:29:35Firstly, Larsson trying to flick it towards Brockback,
00:29:38Presley stumbled, and Henrik Larsson doesn't miss chances like that.
00:29:43Henrik Larsson!
00:30:06I don't think if I'm at first, some of them is an out-and-out striker,
00:30:10because I believe his first game he came on, he played in the left wing.
00:30:24I think I come as a striker, but I didn't come as a goal-scoring striker
00:30:28with a reputation of scoring a lot of goals.
00:30:32But when I came here, I think he intended to use me
00:30:36as an offensive midfield player,
00:30:39but due to the circumstances he had to move me up the pitch,
00:30:44and he liked what he saw up there, and I started scoring a few goals,
00:30:49and ever since I've been playing in that position.
00:31:01CHEERING
00:31:32CHEERING
00:31:47I will do everything I possibly can to bring some success here to Liverpool.
00:31:51CHEERING
00:32:01I have absolutely no doubt that top-class centre-forwards,
00:32:05when they have that second or two as they're bearing down on goal,
00:32:09with only a goalkeeper to beat, that they cannot realise what it might mean.
00:32:14They've got to finish this, they've got to find that at some stage or another,
00:32:18in the next second and a half, this ball has got to be nestling in the back of the net.
00:32:23I think the really great players actually have such concentration,
00:32:27powers of concentration, that everything else is out of their minds.
00:32:57I think that's just an instinct that comes to you.
00:33:01Whenever you run up to a keeper, it's not like you decide,
00:33:04not always, what you're going to do when you're close to him,
00:33:08if you're going to shoot it side in, through the legs, or ship it over.
00:33:11It's something that just comes to you, and when it comes to you, you do.
00:33:16And when you have confidence, it seems easy,
00:33:22but when you don't have any confidence, it makes it more difficult.
00:33:27It just comes to you, and you try to act on that,
00:33:31and sometimes it goes in and sometimes it doesn't.
00:34:03Larsen!
00:34:06It's taken only four minutes for Celtic to hit the front.
00:34:13Aberdeen opened up with ease.
00:34:15Good pass from Alan Thompson, that took out McNaughton.
00:34:19On the overlap was Peta, and the near-post run from Larsen timed to perfection.
00:34:26He was there before Solberg, and Ryan Essen was beaten.
00:34:32Larsen with serious intent.
00:34:38Ryan puts it in, it's there!
00:34:43Well, I said they had to relieve the tension, and they've done it brilliantly.
00:35:01And he puts Celtic ahead with consummate ease.
00:35:07Superbly slotted home.
00:35:10That's a superb penalty kick, right in at the left-hand post.
00:35:18And it's in!
00:35:20And it's in!
00:35:22And it's in!
00:35:24And it's in!
00:35:26And it's in!
00:35:28And it's in!
00:35:29And it's in!
00:36:00AND FORWARD TO YOU, HEATHCOTE
00:36:09And from Philo Donnell and Hendrik Larsen!
00:36:13Two for Larsen, two for Boracic, four for Celtic.
00:36:1811 minutes now into the second half, an absolutely incredible old ë©”n match.
00:36:24Celtic now, running away with this, Henrik Larsson's 13th goal of the season,
00:36:30and Joseph Benglis's jubilance.
00:36:54A gap, Henrik Larsson, off N'Yemi!
00:37:01Henrik Larsson, 3-1.
00:37:04Mistake this time by N'Yemi.
00:37:09There was only one place this was heading, into the back of the net.
00:37:15There's very few, you would say, world strikers at this moment in time,
00:37:19but I'd certainly say Henrik's up there.
00:37:21A lot of people would knock it and say that because it's playing in the Scottish League,
00:37:26but I believe that he would certainly perform like that, wherever he's been.
00:37:32As an out-and-out striker, and I think probably previously,
00:37:36in his other clubs he's been at, in his younger years, I don't think he's possibly been that,
00:37:41but now that he has been transformed into that out-and-out striker,
00:37:43I certainly believe that he could do that, perform at the highest level, wherever he wanted to go.
00:37:49He causes so many problems for defences.
00:37:52Obviously he's worked on his ability in the box,
00:37:56and he can also score from all over, it's not just inside the box,
00:38:00he's scored a few free kicks in his time as well.
00:38:03So it's magnificent as defenders to know that you've got some depth there
00:38:07that can get you a goal or two when you're just maybe struggling.
00:38:11But also his commitment to help the team,
00:38:14and a striker is almost second to none, you know.
00:38:18I think looking back to last season, that's the reason why he broke his leg.
00:38:23It was like he was running back to try and close a full-back down,
00:38:26and obviously fell and broke his leg.
00:38:29And that's appreciated by all the players here,
00:38:32and his effort and his work rate.
00:38:34Not just obviously in his goal ratio, but certainly in closing down defenders
00:38:39and putting them under pressure.
00:38:49To have somebody there that knows that it doesn't matter to him if he has made a miss,
00:38:55you know that he'll still try and get on the end of things.
00:39:00And he certainly has done that.
00:39:02And you can play the ball up to him,
00:39:04he's linked with a lot of people who possibly portray something different
00:39:09to what they actually are in the park.
00:39:11And obviously Henry's certainly one of them.
00:39:13And I think it's just the way that he goes for fun,
00:39:15I think that just comes along with that sort of arrogance.
00:39:19And the goals that he does score is magnificent.
00:39:35Some say that strikers need that, to be that selfish,
00:39:40you know, kind of way inside the box to be able to express themselves and take men on.
00:39:47I think he's got that stature out in the park,
00:39:50but he's certainly respected by all the players.
00:39:59I think the defences are supposed to be better, well organised.
00:40:03It's supposed to be more defensive football that's being played.
00:40:07To have that kind of strike rate, it's just phenomenal.
00:40:10It just shows the man and his ability.
00:40:27Yeah, I was one of the ones that were up applauding him at that time.
00:40:31The biggest noise that you hear before a game or during a game is when they start the huddle.
00:40:36And it was as loud as that, you know, if not louder.
00:40:39When you hear the huddle starts and you're in there,
00:40:42you can't hear five yards away from you when you're trying to talk to someone.
00:40:46And it was certainly as loud as that.
00:40:48And rightly so, I think.
00:40:50His all-round ability, he's certainly deserving of that.
00:40:53And his goal, he's certainly a player that earns all the accolades that he gets.
00:41:10And Komarnik on the back foot again.
00:41:14Thompson.
00:41:19Gets it back from Larson.
00:41:20And Henrik Larson in for his hat-trick.
00:41:25Thompson and Larson combined and there was never much doubt
00:41:28as Larson went through on Gordon Marshall.
00:41:31But he's squeezed this in.
00:41:33Three for Larson.
00:41:35Two for Sutton.
00:41:36Five for Celtic.
00:41:38And Komarnik in big bother.
00:41:42Fulton's lost it to McNamara.
00:41:44Johnson and Henrik Larson, chance for number five.
00:41:50It is five.
00:41:53It trickled over the line but that won't bother most people inside the stadium.
00:41:58And it won't bother Henrik Larson.
00:42:00Now 21 goals for the season after it was lost by Fulton in midfield.
00:42:07And full punishment was forthcoming for him.
00:42:38Henrik Larson has the chance to get two himself.
00:42:44It's Larson!
00:42:47A perfect penalty from a perfect player.
00:42:51And it's a barnstorming start for Celtic.
00:42:55Yeah, he doesn't miss too many.
00:42:56His wrong foot's in a crease there.
00:43:08Goal!
00:43:20So Henrik Larson stepping up for the...
00:43:25That's his eight.
00:43:28Well, the goalkeeper certainly guessed correctly.
00:43:33Tenth minute of the game, Celtic go ahead deservedly.
00:43:38David Hannah over the ball.
00:43:42Stubbs and Rupert putting the blocks.
00:43:46It's Henrik Larson!
00:43:48And that's equaliser.
00:43:52Larson found some room in the penalty area.
00:43:56And he makes the third one big.
00:43:59So within three minutes, Celtic are back on level terms.
00:44:03What a cultured bit of finishing that was from Henrik Larson.
00:44:07O'Donnell.
00:44:09Larson going back into the box.
00:44:11And then he is again, yes!
00:44:14The ultimate goal.
00:44:19Certainly impressed, Tom.
00:44:21Let's go back and refresh this afternoon.
00:44:23Well, maybe a use of an arm there by Donnelly.
00:44:25But he plays it through now to Larson.
00:44:28And Celtic take the lead.
00:44:30With 26 minutes played, it's Henrik Larson.
00:44:33His fourth goal since joining Celtic.
00:44:51When I arrived at the football club,
00:44:54there was talk about Mark Viduka leaving.
00:44:57No amount of cajoling or coaxing could get him to come back.
00:45:02And when I realised, yes, that'll be dead in the water,
00:45:07obviously I had to look around at a centre-forward
00:45:10who was capable of standing up on his own merits as a centre-forward
00:45:15and who might have the ability to play alongside Henrik
00:45:19and perhaps maybe get even more out of Henrik if that was possible.
00:45:23Chris Sutton sprang immediately to mind.
00:45:27He'd had a very, very poor time at Chelsea.
00:45:29He'd just been there a year.
00:45:32I felt that he had the ability to come up here and play centre-forward
00:45:36if he could regain the sort of form and confidence that he'd shown
00:45:41when he won a championship medal for Blackburn Rovers
00:45:43playing alongside Alan Shearer.
00:45:45So I knew he could play.
00:45:46He just perhaps maybe needed a lift.
00:45:49But having said that,
00:45:50the way that he has formed a partnership with Henrik
00:45:54has gone better than any of us could have imagined, to be perfectly honest.
00:45:58I think he has been able to play centre-forward in his own right,
00:46:01which is still the most important thing.
00:46:03And the fact is that he's strong
00:46:05and does take some physical weight off Henrik
00:46:08and allows Henrik to get on and do other things
00:46:11that perhaps if Henrik was shouldering it on his own,
00:46:15he might not be able to do himself.
00:46:17I say that, but I am absolutely delighted with both of them,
00:46:22delighted that they got on very, very well,
00:46:24both on and off the field,
00:46:25and delighted that the partnership has flourished.
00:46:32There's certainly no animosity in the dressing room, for a start.
00:46:35There's no petty jealousy either.
00:46:37I think that the players,
00:46:40I think they're actually very, very pleased for Henrik.
00:46:43I think they're very pleased.
00:46:44They're pleased that he's such a great lad.
00:46:47They're pleased that he's come back from that injury.
00:46:50And I don't think there's any resentment whatsoever in the dressing room
00:46:53that he gets the attention that he does get and that he deserves.
00:46:59There's no airs and graces about him.
00:47:01He takes all the adulation in his stride.
00:47:04He's, I'm quite sure, inwardly delighted that he's such an icon,
00:47:11but even so, I mean, he treats it all magnificently
00:47:16and gets on with things.
00:47:18And I think because Henrik the person is very, very well liked in the dressing room,
00:47:23I think Henrik the footballer just goes with the territory.
00:47:32I've seen so many coaches and managers getting corner kicks and free kicks,
00:47:38get them practised, get them absolutely spot on on a Friday morning
00:47:42and get them hopelessly wrong the following Saturday afternoon.
00:47:46I prefer it the other way around.
00:47:48And I'm delighted that I've got such a player who doesn't make that many mistakes in training
00:47:53but gets it almost always right in the Saturday afternoon.
00:47:58Penalties are sometimes, I believe, in the lap of the gods.
00:48:03You know, you're hoping that if someone is very, very confident,
00:48:06as Henrik generally is, that he will do enough to get that ball over the line.
00:48:11I've seen a number of decent centre forwards in my time.
00:48:15I've also seen decent centre forwards that I haven't actually been directly involved with.
00:48:20Great, great players. Henrik's up there with any one of them.
00:48:24He's as good, he's as clever, he's as intelligent
00:48:28and he's as brilliant as any of those centre forwards and a lot of others besides.
00:48:36He will score goals in any given league.
00:48:41He is a master at this trade and I can't pay him any higher compliments than that.
00:48:49HENRIK LARSEN
00:49:06But now Celtic's turned to Larsen.
00:49:08Larsen has scored.
00:49:12Henrik Larsen right out of nothing.
00:49:15Has made up for pay.
00:49:18They needed to get a goal to make their dominance count.
00:49:21Instead of that, they've conceded one.
00:49:23Celtic's top scorer has hit his ninth of the season.
00:49:29There's Larsen, he must put it away again, and he does.
00:49:32Simple, clinical.
00:49:36Two touches from midfield.
00:49:39Wonderful vision by Biduka.
00:49:42To allow his colleague to run on to that.
00:49:46And just at a time when Hodge looks as if he might break forward.
00:49:54Looking for Larsen, is he on the end of this?
00:49:57Henrik Larsen!
00:49:59A fine strike to open the scoring after 24 minutes.
00:50:06It's Henrik Larsen's seventh goal of the season.
00:50:10Larsen kept his eye on this ball as it dropped.
00:50:13The keeper advanced, and the perfect lob put Celtic one up.
00:50:19McNamara, laid off by Larsen.
00:50:22Through from Blinker, the back heel from Biduka.
00:50:24Cut out by Solberg, danger's not over.
00:50:27And it's Henrik Larsen!
00:50:30That's two in two minutes from Larsen.
00:50:34And Celtic 3-0 up.
00:50:37No respite for the Aberdeen defence.
00:50:40Lovely ball in this time from Moravcic.
00:50:43And again, the deftest of touches from Larsen.
00:50:49Neil Lennon.
00:50:51Good ball from Larsen to Moravcic.
00:50:55Driven in low at the near post, here's Henrik Larsen.
00:50:58Could it be number four for Larsen?
00:51:00It could.
00:51:056-0 Celtic.
00:51:08Unstoppable.
00:51:11And you just knew, despite the odds being stuck against him initially,
00:51:15that Henrik Larsen would find a way to goal.
00:51:32Blinker playing it in behind this impact.
00:51:35He's running the goalkeeper, Henrik Larsen, there it is!
00:51:38Celtic 2-0 up, and that finishes this match.
00:51:42Henrik Larsen, beautiful pass in behind the defence,
00:51:45took it round the goalkeeper, 2-0.
00:51:51Oh, the back header was short, and Henrik Larsen punishes them.
00:51:56And Celtic are 2-0 up.
00:51:59You can't afford that sort of mistake.
00:52:01We're into the last minute.
00:52:05Larsen makes his debut!
00:52:09Larsen with a snap shot has won it for Celtic.
00:52:18I think I come as a striker, but I didn't come as a goal-scoring striker
00:52:23with a reputation of scoring a lot of goals.
00:52:26I didn't succeed that well in Holland on that bit.
00:52:30In Sweden I was a little bit better.
00:52:32But when I came here, I think he intended to use me
00:52:36as an offensive midfield player.
00:52:39But due to the circumstances, he had to move me up the pitch.
00:52:44He liked what he saw up there, and I started scoring a few goals.
00:52:49And ever since, I've been playing in that position.
00:52:53I always regarded myself as a striker,
00:52:56but not like a penalty box striker.
00:53:01More like you enjoy participating in the plays, lay-offs and everything.
00:53:14I don't like just standing still in the box and waiting for the ball.
00:53:18I would like to be all over the place.
00:53:20Good position now for Petrov.
00:53:23Larsen, great play, no offside.
00:53:26Could it be the second? It is!
00:53:28That's a glorious goal!
00:53:30I think the way Celtic plays reminds me of the way I played
00:53:35when I went from my first club in Sweden to Helsingborg.
00:53:40We always played an attacking game.
00:53:42That's the way I would like to play football.
00:53:46Of course, not foolishly. You need to defend as well.
00:53:51When I went to Holland, we played with three strikers.
00:53:56As a youngster, I almost never played it.
00:53:58You had the wide left, wide right and the central striker.
00:54:02As a central striker, as I played quite a bit,
00:54:06you were left alone too much.
00:54:09You hardly ever had anything to link up with,
00:54:11like stepping over the ball, playing the ball,
00:54:14the touch to the right, the touch to the left.
00:54:16You always had to knock the ball backwards,
00:54:18or you had to turn the defenders.
00:54:20But there were always a few defenders around you,
00:54:22so it was always more difficult.
00:54:24Here at Celtic, we play two strikers.
00:54:27We have two great wings in Bobby and Petter,
00:54:31and they're supporting midfield.
00:54:33Once you get forward, we have two defensive midfield players,
00:54:38or one, however you want to see it, and then the back three.
00:54:42You're always going to get more people forward.
00:54:44If you get more people forward,
00:54:46you're always going to create more goal opportunities.
00:54:55I mean, it's a team game.
00:54:58If everybody is high on confidence,
00:55:03it's going to mean that you get more chances.
00:55:06It's going to mean that people are going to take players on
00:55:09and do a bit extra that you dare to do
00:55:13when you maybe have that confidence.
00:55:16That's going to, in the end, result, I think,
00:55:21in that you're going to get more chances to score the goals.
00:55:26Two I really remember is my first goal in the competition
00:55:30against St Johnstone away.
00:55:32It was across from the right diving header.
00:55:35I always remember that one.
00:55:37And the final game of the season,
00:55:40when we took the championship and I scored 1-0.
00:55:43That's something you don't really have to think about.
00:55:46It just comes to you whenever you think about goals.
00:55:49There's a few others, if I think, that I couldn't find.
00:55:54But obviously you're pleased whenever you get the goal.
00:55:58When I scored my 100th goal, I was told afterwards...
00:56:03It was obviously a nice feeling.
00:56:06Now I know which goal it was as well.
00:56:09I think it was the one I slid through the legs of Martial
00:56:14in the Kilmarnock goal.
00:56:16It was quite nice.
00:56:20The people in Scotland live football in a different way
00:56:25than anywhere else I've been.
00:56:27Being in Sweden and Holland, maybe it's not that much,
00:56:30but I found when I left Sweden to Holland
00:56:33that Holland football was living a little bit more than in Sweden.
00:56:37But once I moved over here,
00:56:39I realised that there's nothing close to it here.
00:56:42When the crowd is cheering, obviously you hear something,
00:56:46but you're so focused, especially when you get the ball,
00:56:51what you're going to do next.
00:56:53Mostly you know what to do before you get the ball.
00:56:57You just try to be focused on the game,
00:57:00because you need to really be concentrated to be able to perform well.
00:57:05Then you have to block it out a little bit,
00:57:08but obviously you're going to hear the fans.
00:57:11There's a few people out there.
00:57:13Then when you play, yes.
00:57:15The biggest rivals.
00:57:17As a football player, you want to play the big games,
00:57:20you want to play the important game,
00:57:23even though every game is important.
00:57:25But obviously that one is, for obvious reasons, more important.
00:57:33It's a great atmosphere.
00:57:35A lot of people back home ask me,
00:57:37how is it to play the games?
00:57:39It's hard to tell,
00:57:41because you can't really tell anybody who hasn't been to watch the game
00:57:45or played in it how it is.
00:57:48When we played the Rangers twice a few weeks back,
00:57:52I had a friend over that I used to play football with
00:57:56in my first team in Sweden.
00:57:59He watched the game on Wednesday,
00:58:01and after the game he said,
00:58:03yeah, this is absolutely tremendous.
00:58:06Then I said, just wait until we play on Sunday,
00:58:09you're going to see a difference even there.
00:58:12Then after the Sunday game, I got a few more friends coming over,
00:58:16and they all said, yeah, you don't need to go watch football anywhere else.
00:58:20It can't be better than this.
00:58:25I'm happy here, and I'm here,
00:58:27and I don't need to look anywhere else.
00:58:31I'm here now, and I have two and a half years left on my contract.
00:58:35I just try to focus to play the games,
00:58:38play well if we play on Saturday or Sunday or Wednesday,
00:58:41whenever we play.
00:58:43If there are speculations, that's not coming from me anyway.
00:58:54It's Henrik Larsson, who's over the ball, the referee,
00:58:57and he's telling the Aberdeen defenders to move back.
00:59:00Yeah, it wasn't my birthday!
00:59:04It was Aberdeen, I scored two or three.
00:59:12Three goals, and that was my second, I think, free kick.
00:59:16Henrik Larsson, Celtic 2, Aberdeen 0.
00:59:22A brilliantly struck free kick, which gave Jim Layton absolutely no chance.
00:59:28They seem to end it with such great ease.
00:59:31I just saw the space, and I wanted to put it there, and it just went in.
00:59:36Absolute brilliance.
00:59:39When you hit it, you feel how it's going to be.
00:59:43Once you strike it, you feel if it's going to be close or not,
00:59:47and then you can't tell until you see the end result.
00:59:50That's his fifth goal since joining Celtic.
00:59:53Brilliant piece of play, right into the corner.
00:59:56It was one of the lucky ones.
00:59:59But thankfully we have other free-kick takers in the club as well,
01:00:03in Moravcic, so that's all right.
01:00:13MUSIC PLAYS
01:00:43Thompson delivers the corner...
01:00:45And Henrik Larsson has equalised for Celtic!
01:00:49It's 1-1, and they'll be back in a kneels-down manner,
01:00:53not ready to be beaten just yet.
01:00:56That's back to Celtic back in August, isn't it?
01:00:58The glancing header.
01:01:00Stephane Kloos rooted to his line there.
01:01:03Good ball, whipped in by Thompson.
01:01:05Loads of pace on it.
01:01:08And Dick Advocaat will be feeling that's a free header.
01:01:11That will be taken by Bobby Petter.
01:01:15Petter delivers.
01:01:16Larsson's header!
01:01:17He's done it again!
01:01:19It's a double for Henrik Larsson!
01:01:22It's number five for Celtic.
01:01:26Well, once again it's a wonderful goal, Ian,
01:01:28but once again you have to question the marking at the back for Rangers.
01:01:32Good delivery, whipped in by Petter,
01:01:34but look at the room that Henrik Larsson has.
01:01:37Barry Ferguson the nearest to him, and he's three yards off him.
01:01:41And it doesn't get any easier for strikers than this.
01:01:43Final four still to be done,
01:01:45though, and Larsson applies a death fist of hurdles to find a corner.
01:01:49Henrik Larsson scores his 57th league goal in 84 matches.
01:01:55For Celtic.
01:01:58It is, I think, what every is saying, that's a second goal.
01:02:04Larsson follows through and gets a second goal.
01:02:08As a youngster, Robert Malcolm was left stranded there,
01:02:11on his own, against the most lethal attacker in the United Kingdom.
01:02:18And he got in such a tangle.
01:02:20Perfectly correct position by the referee.
01:02:25Well, he could have bust an end at the end there,
01:02:27but all he needed to do was take it there,
01:02:31and then touch it in.
01:02:32Rangers, warbly exposed in defence.
01:02:36There's a clean break there.
01:02:44Well, that's in, yes.
01:02:45Cleanly taken.
01:02:47He's hardly been in the game,
01:02:49but then, that's a mark of quality.
01:02:52And we've seen it in different circles this week already,
01:02:56by men who can score goals out of virtually nothing.
01:02:59We saw Simone do it.
01:03:01We saw Larsson do it.
01:03:04And now that man there.
01:03:29What's it worth?
01:03:31What's it worth, yeah?
01:03:33What's it worth?
01:03:35What's it worth, yeah?
01:03:47I think when you see this goal,
01:03:48I think you see an actual instinct of Henneke.
01:03:51It's a goal.
01:03:52We have a long throw-in here for Johan,
01:03:55and it's Henneke that actually reflects it all on.
01:03:58But he doesn't just stop there to admire it.
01:04:01When everybody else has stopped here,
01:04:02things that freak out,
01:04:03you see Henneke falling in,
01:04:05and it just shows you what instinct he has in front of the goal.
01:04:09He just has the ability to get it in front of everybody
01:04:11and not stop.
01:04:12Nobody else had played for the whistle.
01:04:14It didn't come.
01:04:15And a true professional just keeps going.
01:04:17But as the ball ran free,
01:04:18first to react was Henrik Larsson.
01:04:212-0.
01:04:28Thompson.
01:04:29He's kicked away.
01:04:32From Tomaszek.
01:04:34Thompson's centre.
01:04:35And look who's in there!
01:04:37That is brilliant.
01:04:38And Celtic clearly claim their second goal.
01:04:41And it's a double for Henrik Larsson.
01:04:44It came out of nothing.
01:04:45It's the same combination as well.
01:04:46Alan Thompson did so well.
01:04:48That's our target.
01:04:50When you answer the question,
01:04:51we say, I'll do the service.
01:04:53If you look at that ball from Thompson,
01:04:55the finish is brilliant.
01:04:56The finish is brilliant.
01:04:57Why?
01:04:58Because it's outside his foot in the run.
01:05:00But also it puts the game probably beyond Thompson.
01:05:271-0.
01:05:291-0.
01:05:55We hit.
01:05:56We hit.
01:05:571-1.
01:05:58We give it up.
01:05:59Galatina.
01:06:27♪
01:06:47Yeah, I'll be.
01:06:48♪
01:07:00This goes early on in the season.
01:07:04It's just beginning to get to know what Chris Sutton is all about.
01:07:09But the goal itself is one of anticipation as much as anything else.
01:07:13The realisation of what Chris can or cannot do with this ball.
01:07:18Chris Sutton heads this ball back.
01:07:20The only thing he's possible to do.
01:07:22And Henrik gets in front of the, which I would assume the covering fullback.
01:07:27He gets in front of him because he realises that Chris is struggling to do anything else with the ball.
01:07:31And suddenly, from just a simple knockback, Henrik is in and has scored the goal.
01:07:37I mean, it's fantastic anticipation.
01:07:40To know that Chris can do nothing else but head that ball into that area if he's going to do that at all.
01:07:45And to get in, he still has to finish it.
01:07:48The finish is magnificent.
01:07:50You come to almost expect him to get into that position.
01:07:54Come on, girls. Everybody.
01:07:56Come on. Let's go.
01:08:15One. Two. One.
01:08:24Go on.
01:08:48The most important one was the one that, when we started, was the only way to win the league.
01:08:52With the goal we scored against St. Johnstone.
01:08:55And it was a great strike as well.
01:09:04That's a great goal, that one.
01:09:06I don't think we could have had it any better.
01:09:08And as I say, it happened that early in the game. It settled everybody down.
01:09:12You know.
01:09:13The actual finish itself was first class.
01:09:22He was caught inside here.
01:09:25The goalie's even bent it on the defender.
01:09:28The goalie's not got a chance.
01:09:29And as I said, it's settled everybody down now.
01:09:41This goal against Dunfermline, I think, shows just about everything that Henrik has got.
01:09:47It's a build-up for remembering, of course, the state of the game.
01:09:51We've got an equaliser.
01:09:52We're into the last four or five minutes of the match.
01:09:54We're still desperate for a win.
01:10:03He receives the ball magnificently.
01:10:05A little turn of pace.
01:10:07The realisation that Thompson's behind him. A little backflip.
01:10:10There he is. He's in front of goal. But it's the finish.
01:10:13The goalkeeper, Henrik will admit, has made it a wee bit easier for him
01:10:16by going down to ground a wee bit too early.
01:10:18But even so, Henrik Larsen has finished that off
01:10:21with two minutes to go in a match that is of vital importance to us
01:10:25like it was a training game.
01:10:27Now I remember this one.
01:10:29He's going to come to me on the side. I'm going to drive it into the middle.
01:10:33Alan Thompson is coming.
01:10:35Taking the ball over. And then you see his awareness here.
01:10:38If he's not there, I won't get in.
01:10:41And then I asked him.
01:10:43So the keeper was coming. And I thought, take a touch.
01:10:46Go round him.
01:10:48Goalkeeper helps him a little bit. But even so, he still has to finish.
01:10:51And the fact is that
01:10:54other centre-forwards I've seen who have been very good players
01:10:57would have been inclined to think he's got the opportunity.
01:11:00Left foot this. And perhaps maybe volley it over the bar
01:11:03with two minutes to go. And still go into the dressing room and say
01:11:06well, it doesn't really matter because the chance just fell to me.
01:11:10I had to hit it quickly.
01:11:12Henrik was prepared to take that extra touch.
01:11:14Go round the goalkeeper and put the ball in the net.
01:11:17And at that stage of the game, he could have been forgiven
01:11:21for just blasting it left foot.
01:11:33Against Hearts, coming up.
01:11:36He's looking for his hat-trick now, at this minute.
01:11:39Didier goes for the run. He's going in.
01:11:42He knows what Didier is going to do.
01:11:44Once Didier stops for a second, he knows he's going to cross it.
01:11:47Henrik. It's the third goal of his hat-trick.
01:11:50And he's just like
01:11:53absolutely full of it. Confidence is very, very high.
01:11:56It's a few minutes to go in the game.
01:11:59And he knows that even if he misses, it won't really matter.
01:12:02We've just got the game, but he might as well score his hat-trick.
01:12:05Finish off a fantastic night's entertainment
01:12:08and a great night for him personally.
01:12:11It's a lovely ball through, but he knows that Didier is going to get to it.
01:12:14The minute he sees Didier now step back, he's going to cross the ball.
01:12:17Henrik stops.
01:12:20He leads the defender by pretending to go to the back post,
01:12:23then checking out again himself, which you'll see in an earlier clip.
01:12:27But his control is fantastic.
01:12:30It's the one touch he used to finish it off and put it in the net.
01:12:33It's simply magnificent.
01:12:36But remember, it's three minutes to go in a game.
01:12:39His confidence is absolutely sky-high from that minute.
01:12:42But I'm quite sure I say that. I'm doing him a disfavour.
01:12:45He would have scored that goal after three minutes in the game, which he did do.
01:12:53Johnson must put it through here.
01:12:56Larsson ought to put it away, and he does.
01:12:59With delightful ease.
01:13:04When he gets a chance like that, he makes it look ridiculously simple.
01:13:08Of course, it never ends.
01:13:11Second in the game for the man, and they were left wide open there.
01:13:15Look at that, reminiscent of another one somewhat earlier in the season.
01:13:21Chelsea, four up.
01:13:30Johan gets the ball, it's sort of a semi-clearance.
01:13:33It's a chance for him to run his ball.
01:13:36Henrik's not giving it up.
01:13:39He thought the centre-back was going to play the ball back to the goalkeeper.
01:13:43But even so, ever alert to know that if he makes a slight mistake,
01:13:48he's in on top of it.
01:13:54As most defenders are told at a young age, don't turn inside.
01:13:58This time I just took a chance on going on the outside,
01:14:02and I got the ball in front of him, and then the keeper's coming out.
01:14:06I don't have much option than trying to slide it through his legs.
01:14:12It went in. He might as well just hit his leg and bounce out for a corner.
01:14:17In order to score goals, you need luck as well.
01:14:20If you don't have that, you won't score.
01:14:22To know that that ball ended from where he kicked it,
01:14:25to put it into the side netting, which is the only place it could have gone
01:14:29if he was going to be accurate to put it in the net,
01:14:31that was fantastic accuracy. Absolutely brilliant.
01:14:34But to be thinking ahead like that, it's magnificent.
01:14:41This goal against Norwich.
01:14:44Salted through.
01:14:46Larsson! Fantastic goal by Henrik Larsson.
01:14:49Henrik Larsson meant to score that goal.
01:14:51He did not mean to put the ball into an area of play.
01:14:54He meant to score that goal.
01:14:56He wasn't exactly sure where the goalkeeper would be,
01:14:59and I don't think that Pele would have been aware of where the goalkeeper exactly was,
01:15:04but he knows that if he gets the shot right, left foot shot right,
01:15:09the goalkeeper's going to do very, very well to save it.
01:15:12The goalkeeper might have been able to get across and touch it,
01:15:15but the fact is that Henrik Larsson meant to do precisely that.
01:15:18That wasn't just an overhead shot to play it back into the penalty area
01:15:24and hope that somebody might come in the end of it.
01:15:26That was a deliberate shot at goal.
01:15:28It was a magnificent goal. Absolutely magnificent.
01:15:31Oh, yes, Kursumane.
01:15:34It's hard to pick one of them.
01:15:38But I think, obviously against Glasgow Reigners this season,
01:15:42the first meeting here at Parkhead, I think it was the 4-1 goal.
01:15:46That is sensational!
01:15:49It's one of the best goals I've seen.
01:15:52You can get everything about skill, especially against Rangers.
01:15:58It's certainly my best goal.
01:16:00A special goal from a very special player.
01:16:03If I go maybe very back to last year's run,
01:16:07it was probably against Rangers when I think he put the ball through.
01:16:11I think he's quite a man.
01:16:13Larsson. Oh, he's in!
01:16:14It was 4-1 ahead in the match.
01:16:17Henrik is...
01:16:19World class!
01:16:21And Sutton sets up Larsson here.
01:16:26Larsson. Oh, he's in!
01:16:28Henrik Larsson!
01:16:30And that is sensational!
01:16:34He missed all four Old World games last season.
01:16:39But he rather enjoys making up for lost time.
01:16:43World class.
01:16:45Well, that is world class, Ian.
01:16:47A special goal from a very special player.
01:16:50Chris Sutton does magnificently well in the first place to win it over Amoruso.
01:16:55Larsson on his way. Look at that skill.
01:16:58And he has the confidence, the composure and the technique to chip it over Stefan Kloss.
01:17:05Look at the arrogance in that finish.
01:17:08That, as you say, is the mark of a world class player.
01:17:13Chris has got the touch for him to put him through.
01:17:17It's just a long ball played up.
01:17:19Chris has done magnificently.
01:17:20Ball's fallen to Henrik.
01:17:21He's got miles to go yet to score.
01:17:23Comes in, just does a little trick.
01:17:25And then, just that little touch over the goalkeeper.
01:17:28That was fantastic.
01:17:31Fantastic.
01:17:33You can see, once he has put the ball through the defender's legs,
01:17:39had a quick look up, in his own mind he's favourite to score a goal.
01:17:43But again, it's still the most difficult thing to do.
01:17:46He makes it look so easy.
01:17:49The best option I thought at the moment was to try to chip it.
01:17:53And I did that.
01:17:54This time it went in and everybody was pleased.
01:18:12It was a long ball and that shows how important Chris is for the team as well.
01:18:17He's a big man, a target player.
01:18:20So he was on his own there.
01:18:21And he just chased it down to me.
01:18:23And then I know once I took the ball there,
01:18:26that I didn't have any options to play it anyway.
01:18:29Because I knew that I was alone.
01:18:31And I just, yeah, make a run.
01:18:33And not make the counterman there.
01:18:36And then once I'd done that, I had a look.
01:18:39And I see that the keeper wanted to come out.
01:18:41Because he wanted to close my angles then.
01:18:43At the time, because I think that Amoruso is coming from my right side as well.
01:18:48So the option was to take it over to my left foot.
01:18:52It was a little bit weaker than my right.
01:18:55And that would again give Klos extra time to do something about it.
01:19:01So once I'd done the nutmeg, that's the best chance to score the goal, I thought.
01:19:07And that's why I took the decision to try to chip it over.
01:19:19THE END
01:19:37I've heard chat about people saying,
01:19:39well, Henrik would only score goals in the Scottish Premiership.
01:19:44And that he might struggle somewhere else.
01:19:46Let me tell you, and I will assure everybody,
01:19:48and allow me to have this experience and a wee bit of know-how about it.
01:19:52Henrik Larsson would score goals in any league in European football.
01:19:56Any league whatsoever in European football.
01:20:00And he would score a load of goals.
01:20:02Yeah, certainly the way things are going.
01:20:04If he continues his strike rate,
01:20:07that would certainly be in line to get the Golden Boot.
01:20:11He certainly would have achieved it.
01:20:14As everybody is saying in the Scottish League.
01:20:17As a striker, you've still got to score them.
01:20:20You see there, as one of the goals that I've chosen,
01:20:24he's done most of the hard work himself.
01:20:27He's done exceptionally well.
01:20:30So as a striker, you've still got to perform, you've still got to score the goals.
01:20:34What he's come through for the leg break,
01:20:37coming three or four years ago here,
01:20:41and making every young kid as well,
01:20:45maybe take notice of what they want to be when they're older as well.
01:20:49So he's a role model for their point of view as well.
01:20:53Henrik said the other evening that the service has been excellent for him.
01:20:58You accept that.
01:20:59But at the end of it all, sometimes he makes goals out of nothing.
01:21:02And that is a fantastic quality to have.
01:21:05Magnificent quality.
01:21:07I'm sure if you ask people about him, they'll know him too far.
01:21:10They've probably seen he was probably the greatest player that Celtics ever had.
01:21:13They were in their books, you know.
01:21:15He's everything that we all think he is.
01:21:18And perhaps more.
01:21:20Certainly if given the chances that have been created for him,
01:21:24he'd certainly take a few.
01:21:26And I would believe that he'd be up there amongst the top goal scorers
01:21:29in any league that he was in.
01:21:31Henrik Larsson would score goals in any European league.
01:21:35I say European league because I don't know what happens in Brazil or down in Argentina.
01:21:40I would assume if he went down there, he would score goals as well too in Buenos Aires.
01:21:45It wouldn't make any difference.
01:21:46At the end of the day, he would score goals.
01:21:48Well, I'll say it.
01:21:49He would score goals in any league in any part of the world.
01:22:05You
