00:00The Prophet of Allah, Musa a.s, the Prophet that had the luxury of speaking directly to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
00:07Imagine, the Prophet of Allah, his people were going through a state of drought.
00:12No water, you know what that means?
00:15That means everyone was suffering.
00:18No water, no food, no crops, the plants were dying, nothing was growing,
00:24animals were dying, nothing to drink, nothing to eat.
00:27Human beings were dying and suffering, amongst them is the Prophet.
00:33So the people came to Musa a.s and said,
00:35Ya Musa, what's going on?
00:37I'll cut the long story short.
00:39So Musa and his people, they go to the desert.
00:41Musa a.s raises his hands and says,
00:43Oh Allah, you can see what's happening to my people.
00:45Ya Allah, we're begging, we're asking for rain.
00:49Naturally, when a Prophet asks, what happens?
00:52Allah answers, yes or no.
00:55Musa a.s asks for rain, they're waiting for the clouds to come in, nothing happened.
01:02You know, forgive me, these are my own interpretations.
01:04I'm making it clear, these are my own interpretations.
01:06These are the, you know, I have this problem, whenever I read, these thoughts go through my mind.
01:12I'm thinking, wow, imagine being a Prophet at that moment.
01:15My people who already their Iman is with the wind, going and coming, right?
01:20True, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala again and again, Banu Isra'il were the worst, yes?
01:25And imagine, imagine the pressure he was under.
01:28My people are turning to me, they're waiting for the response.
01:30I'm a Prophet of Allah, right?
01:32I have direct relationship with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
01:35Ya Allah, I clearly asked you for rain and nothing happens.
01:40Talk about heat under the Qala.
01:45So Musa a.s says, Ya Allah, what's happening?
01:49I asked for rain and no rain.
01:52Now listen to what Allah says.
01:55He says, Ya Musa, from amongst your people, there is one sinner.
02:04One!
02:07How many sinners are in our towns?
02:13How many of our Muslims don't pray?
02:16How many of our sisters are still unscarfed?
02:20How many of our elders still cannot read Fatiha properly?
02:26Ya Musa, from amongst your people is one sinner and because of him and him alone,
02:34I have deprived the rain from falling.
02:38So you can come to me now and talk to me about justice and wisdom and is this fair all night long.
02:44Doesn't change the fact that Allah deprived rain upon a Prophet, upon people, upon innocent women and children and animals and crops
02:51because of the actions of one man.
02:56One man!
03:02So Musa turns to his people, he says, Oh my people, amongst you is a sinner. Come out and make yourself known.
03:07One!
03:12You know, I always think about this story and I think imagine being that man at that time.
03:19You know,
03:22Wallahi, with all respect to everyone, I already know without anyone, every person in this room is a sinner including myself.
03:31Every one of you is a sinner, whether you like it or not, because the Prophet of Allah will never lie.
03:36Every single human being is a sinner.
03:41But we have the luxury of hiding our sins, sometimes we have the luxury of knowing, look, Alhamdulillah, at least no one knows about it,
03:46it's in private, it's only between me, you know, no one knows.
03:50Imagine this man has now been addressed by a Prophet and
03:53now he comes to realize that because of my sin, because of my shortcoming that I thought no one knows about except me and Allah,
04:01now this man comes to realize that because of my shortcomings,
04:06all my people have been suffering because of my sin. Imagine that feeling.
04:15Honestly, how many of you feel like because of your sins the Ummah is suffering?
04:21How many of us?
04:27So Musa says make yourself known, come forward.
04:31Imagine the embarrassment.
04:34So this man now realizes that, hey, I'm the guilty one.
04:41Unfortunately, something most of us are not prepared to do.
04:46So the man repents, he makes tawbah to Allah,
04:49but doesn't make himself known to Musa.
04:53So Musa waits for the man to come forward, no one comes forward, Musa goes back, asks Allah,
04:59and to his amazement the rain comes and starts falling down.
05:04So yes, of course Musa is happy the rain is there, but now he's baffled.
05:10He says, Ya Allah,
05:12please, some clarification.
05:15I asked for rain to begin with, you said there's a sinner. I asked for the sinner to come forward, no one came forward.
05:19I asked for rain the second time and now the rain comes down. What's going on?
05:23Now listen to what Allah says to him.
05:25He says, Ya Musa, I deprived the rain from coming because of him and him alone.
05:31But that person, he turned back to me and he asked for my forgiveness.
05:34I accepted his tawbah and now because of him and him alone, I've allowed the rain to fall down.
05:45So Musa is now interested. He says, Oh Allah,
05:48tell me who this man is.
05:51Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says to Musa, he says, Ya Musa, I didn't expose him when he was a sinner.
05:57What makes you think I'm gonna expose him now that he's repented and turned back to me?
06:05You know what's the amazing part of this story? It's not the fact that Allah allowed the rain to come.
06:12You know what I find is interesting?
06:14What I find interesting is this man that was man enough to admit, was man enough to stand up and say, Hey, I am in the wrong.
06:21He was man enough to acknowledge the fact that his shortcomings made his people suffer and he was man enough to acknowledge it and he was man enough to turn back to Allah.
06:28He was man enough to ask Allah azza wa jal for forgiveness and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala accepted him.
06:35According to this story,
06:37He was man enough to ask Allah azza wa jal for forgiveness and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala accepted him.
06:44A quality that most of us fail in.
06:49Where are those that are prepared to stand up and say, Hey, you know what's happening around the world?
06:55It's because of people like me. It's because of my shortcomings. It's because of my lack of deen. It's because of my sins at night.
07:01It's because of my long tongue that I can't keep shut.
07:04It's because of my eyes that I can't keep down. It's because of my actions.
07:08No, we point the finger at anyone and everyone except myself.
