Heartstopping footage shows a drunk BMW driver speeding away from a pub - moments before he killed his teenage friend in a horror crash.

William Hubbard, 19, died after being impaled by a fence post when Oliver Barber, 20, lost control of his car in Shifnal, Shrops., on May 27 last year.

00:00On May 27th, 2023, 19-year-old William Hubbard was enjoying a night out in Shifnal, Shropshire
00:08with friends when he was offered a lift home by his friend Oliver Barber.
00:14Barber had also been out in Shifnal drinking with friends and despite being three times
00:19over the drink drive limit, he got behind the wheel with three people in his car.
00:25Barber then left the pub at speed in a 20mph zone.
00:31Officers believe he reached speeds of around 70mph before he lost control of his car and
00:37collided with a fence on the A464.
00:41Sadly, William was pronounced dead at the scene.

01:22Today Barber was given an eight-year custodial sentence for causing death by dangerous driving.
01:29Barber pleaded guilty at a hearing in August.
