00:00It's been a tough couple of weeks for X. A judge banned the platform in Brazil, saying

00:05it wasn't doing enough to prevent disinformation.

00:09Owner Elon Musk slammed the move, but it may be a sign of a deeper problem.

00:15Data from Pew Research suggests there are trust issues, especially among Americans who

00:20consume news on X.

00:22Nearly 50% say they sometimes see inaccurate information.

00:27Just under 40% say it's quite often, or extremely often.

00:31Make no mistake, the platform is still massive, with 570 million people using it at least

00:38once a month.

00:39But in 2022, Musk said he saw a path to a billion users within 18 months.

00:46X is nowhere near that path, and so it may have to tread carefully when it comes to trust.

00:51Otherwise, it could just lose its way.
