00:00It helped me to be more open about my spending habits when it comes to perfumes.
00:18We've been together, what, three years now?
00:20Yeah, three years.
00:21Well, we've been together for 19 years.
00:24I think people are scared to talk about their salaries with their partners,
00:28purely because of potentially fear of judgment.
00:30I find it very difficult to discuss it.
00:34I feel like I can't really freely talk about money with him
00:38because maybe it puts him in a bad frame of mind.
00:46So, as part of UK Savings Week, Skipton wanted to place this on the street
00:51just to really encourage couples to open up and have them conversations
00:54that maybe they're avoiding having.
00:55I think this is a great idea.
00:57The Money Talks booth reminds me of, like, this dating show that I've seen,
01:00like, you know, where people go in there and talk about love or whatever.
01:03So, yeah, I think it's a great concept because money can be difficult to talk about.
01:07Yeah, I felt a lot less self-conscious in the Money Talks booth.
01:10I felt that I was not being judged or watched.
01:14It was brilliant to be in the booth and listen to customers
01:16being really open and honest about their finances.
01:19It's something that people shy away from, so it was great to be a part of that.
01:22My top tip to couples out there is just be open and honest about your finances
01:27and really open up.
01:28It's not as scary as it seems, and utilise the savings specialist as well
01:32just to help guide them conversations.
