Police and a large group of protesters have clashed outside the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, where a major defence and weapons expo is being held.

01:00And protests outside don't seem to be causing much concern.

01:05I'm proud to lead an army that for 123 years has been defending the right of Australians

01:10to protest peacefully.

01:12So far the massive police presence both inside and outside the Convention Centre has managed

01:18to keep all protesters at bay.

01:21This so-called ring of steel has done its job, but there are still two days to go.
