00:00I'm feeling a bit sad today and thinking about my dog Jet. It would have been his fifth birthday

00:05yesterday but some of you may remember if you've been following me for a while he died just over

00:13two years ago because he was out for a walk with a friend and he choked on a ball and so I just

00:19want to take this opportunity to remind everyone out there of the dangers of balls with dogs.

00:28Lots of dogs love playing with ball I know Jet certainly did he played with the ball every day

00:33until the day he died. So if you have to play with a ball with your dog get an anti-choking

00:40ball that's got holes in it so if it gets lodged in their airway it's not going to kill them.

00:45Or use a ball that's much too big to swallow for it like a Labrador sized dog a tennis ball

00:51is too small. Use another type of toy or a ball with a rope attached to it and lastly but certainly

00:59not least make sure you have an understanding of dog first aid if you're out walking a dog.
