00:00Hi I'm Theo and today I'm out on the streets of Manchester talking to people about skyscrapers
00:04and that's because Manchester's changing. It's been changing for a long time, in fact there's
00:07an argument that it never stops. However what we're seeing more and more recently is development
00:12of huge skyscrapers which massively impact the skyline of Manchester and also help build up the
00:17amount of accommodations that we've got here. Being a student's great in Manchester but we
00:20have to live miles out of the city in a house which is nice but when all our unis are in
00:25Manchester in the centre trekking every day getting the bus like so it's just unaffordable
00:30to live and and then because everywhere's expensive to live it boosts the price above
00:35doing all the other stuff like getting out shopping everything's stupidly expensive.
00:40As Manchester develops and more things are just going to hike up in price even more it's going
00:44to be already like to just go into town you can't there's not very much you can do without spending
00:49money and like probably the northern quarters probably one of the only places you can actually
00:53sit down without spending money in Manchester. Just you know the kind of it's not catering for
00:59all it's catering more for the rich people which isn't good but like I think for the actual city
01:03itself it's not a terrible thing but for the population as a whole it's not a great thing.
01:09I feel like a lot of that you see on TikTok all the time there's a lot of like
01:14new places being built and then it's like people like oh look for an apartment with me and it's
01:18like oh the my like non-negotiable is that the apartment has to have a gym and that's just like
01:26well most people can't even access that like for someone who is unemployed at the moment as well
01:32like it's very difficult for me to even access any sort of exercise that isn't just walking along
01:37the canal. I just feel like there's like families out there that's proper struggling to get by like
01:42they have to get to food banks and like struggle to eat and like can't afford to buy a house and
01:48then they're just building skyscrapers to put rich people and I just don't really
01:51apparently get behind it. So what do you think? Feel free to comment below
