Unsettling robo-humanoid designed for home use launched

A company have launched an unsettling robot designed to live in your home.

The NEO Beta is a bipedal humanoid with uncannily human-like movements.

Developers 1X, based in California and Norway, say they are releasing a number of their prototype bots into people's homes this year.

A teaser clip of the NEO shows it helping a person get ready to go out by handing her a rucksack and giving a hug.

The company believe the robot could help with household chores, as well as work in warehouses, manufacturing and the service industry.
