00:25since tanning is the defense mechanism that gets turned on when the DNA of skin cells is damaged by UV radiation.

00:37It's a slow-developing disease, meaning it can take years or even decades for the effects of sun exposure to turn into cancerous lesions.

00:51Experts say you should wear broad-spectrum sunscreen every day, avoid tanning beds,
