00:00Captivating tales of bygone times will be brought to life this weekend, as some of Lancashire's
00:05most illustrious buildings open their doors as part of the annual Heritage Open Days Festival.
00:11A rare chance to find out about Burnley's footballing greats will be available at the
00:15Clarets Collection Exhibition, a fan-led collection at Burnley Library. The collection will be
00:21open to the public this Saturday and Tuesday 10th September from 2pm to 2.45pm on both
00:27days. Meanwhile, Clitheroe Castle Museum will offer free admission to the museum at
00:32their event this Saturday from 11am until 4pm, which includes a range of family-friendly
00:39activities at the historic landmark. Highlights of the second weekend on Saturday 14th September
00:46include the Queen Street Textile Museum in Burnley, where visitors will be able to witness
00:51the last steam-powered weaving shed in the world, the 130-year-old Lancashire Looms
00:57and staff dressed in Victorian costume, as well as finding out more about cotton weaving
01:01mills throughout the decade. And finally, a chance to explore Gorthorp Hall near Paddyham
01:09and find out about those who live there will be on offer on Saturday 14th September, when
01:14the Hall opens for free from noon to 4pm.
