00:00We're talking about the whole smartphone social media ecosystem, not just social media alone.

00:11The main reason for saying that is because of this very clear deterioration in the mental

00:16health of young people since around about 2010, and it has been quite dramatic.

00:23The health, the mental health of young people stands out insofar as it is getting worse

00:29and it is getting worse very rapidly, and it appears to be a very real phenomenon.

00:36One of the most dramatic indicators is the incidence of hospitalisation due to self-harm

00:42in young children aged 10 to 14 has trebled, almost trebled, over the last decade.
