00:00The first rehearsal of the National Day Parade was held at Dataran Putrajaya on Tuesday.

00:07The participants marched from the Youth and Sports Ministry Building to the Putra Mosque,

00:12over a five-kilometer stretch.

00:15National Department for Culture and Arts Director-General Muhammad Amran Muhammad Haris

00:20said some aspects of the parade and performances need refinement,

00:24especially the duration of the entire event.

00:27He said they aimed to complete the event within two hours,

00:30but the rehearsal exceeded the duration.

00:33He said the parade will involve 17,000 participants from 59 contingents,

00:39while many more will take part in a variety of performances

00:42during the National Day celebration on August 31.

00:46He said the best viewing spot is in front of the Palace of Justice,

00:50but seating is limited.

00:52Alternatively, the public can also enjoy the celebrations

00:56from designated areas along the parade route.
