Australian chef Maggie Beer suffers fractures from fall at home

Foodie and TV personality Maggie Beer is recovering in hospital after a fall at her Barossa Valley home.

00:04Maggie Beer's family took to Instagram last night to let people know that she had a fall

00:09at her Barossa Valley home, and she did suffer from some minor bone fractures and some other

00:14related injuries.

00:16Luckily for the 79-year-old, her husband, Cole, was there and was able to help her as

00:20well.

00:21The post says that she is in the hands of her doctors, who are confident that she will

00:26be making a full recovery, but that it might take a little while.

00:29The family also took that time to apologise for her missing out on any future events,

00:35and have asked for some patience while she recovers and recuperates.

00:38Maggie Beer is known across many Australian homes, and kitchens in particular.

00:42Particularly here in South Australia, she's lived in the Barossa Valley now for quite

00:46some time.

00:47In recent times as well, she's also been taking on Maggie Beer's Big Mission, where she's

00:52been helping to improve nutrition and food for people living in aged care homes.

00:56So it's really no surprise that this post from her family has been met with a lot of

01:00support, and while she's recovering from these injuries, we'll be expecting to see a lot

01:05of well-wishers heading her way.
