Greek Oil Tanker Ablaze in Red Sea After Attack Near Yemen Port. Houthi-Links Suspected.

A Greek-flagged oil tanker, the Sounion, was left abandoned and on fire in the Red Sea after being attacked by two small boats near a Yemen port controlled by the Houthi militant group. The 25 crew members were safely evacuated with naval support from the EU's Aspides mission. The tanker suffered minor damage and is now being relocated for assessment. The Sounion, carrying 150,000 tonnes of crude oil, poses a navigational and environmental risk. The attack has yet to be claimed, but similar strikes have been linked to the Houthi group, disrupting vital trade routes.
