00:00Best advice I was ever given is probably from Steven Soderbergh.

00:09He said, all anyone does in the entertainment industry is talk, and you jump from circus

00:13to circus.

00:14So you collect these stories about other circuses and other people in those circuses, and when

00:18everybody gets together, all they do is talk about everybody else.

00:21So what do you want the story to be when someone in some other circus is talking about their

00:25experience with you?

00:26Think about that, and then go be that.

00:28Best advice I ever followed, probably before I got sober.

00:33The first time I did acid, it didn't work, and my friend said, oh, well, it must have

00:37been a dud.

00:38Let me go get you another one.

00:39Neither one of them were duds, let's put it that way, and it led to an eye-opening experience.

00:45Favorite advice to give, physical training has been a lifelong disappointment, and it's

00:49been my best friend in my worst times, and it's been my best friend in my best times.

00:54You don't have to be the best, you just have to be consistent, and it's actually one of

00:57the few things on the planet that actually gives back to you what you put in.

01:01You know, I tell people, just be consistent.

01:03A friend of mine once said, do you know how to swim?

01:06You get wet.

01:07You want to know how to write a book?

01:08Sit in a chair.

01:09You want to know how to get in shape?

01:10Put your shoes on.

01:11So I tell people, put your shoes on, just put your shoes on, and you'll go.
