Final key bridge over Seym River in Russia destroyed by Ukraine

The destruction of the final bridge in the region threatens to obstruct Moscow's ability to get supplies and reinforcements to its troops in about 700 square kilometres of Russian territory.

00:34On Sunday, Ukraine's air force commander claimed that the Ukrainian air force had destroyed

00:39the second bridge in Svano, cutting it in two.

00:44And the third was reportedly destroyed today.

00:48Destroying the bridges over same is considered a crucial step for Ukraine to ensure a secure

00:52flank to its offensive in Kursk, making it difficult for Moscow to supply its troops.

00:59It could also demonstrate that Kiev might seek a foothold in the region or at least

01:04have the capacity to do so.

01:08By destroying the three bridges, Ukrainian forces have probably isolated and cut off

01:13up to 700 square kilometers of territory in the Kursk region.

01:19In its latest assessment, the Institute for the Study of War says that Russian forces

01:24have likely redeployed more than 5,000 personnel to Kursk.
