00:30Hey everyone, the head I'm demoing for you today is the Evans Janera HD Drive. This has
00:46an outer ply of 5mm film and an inner ply of 7.5mm film. So it's a 12.5mm thick drum
00:55head and it's two plies. Now on the bottom of the head there's a layer of 2mm film and
01:02this is just like an inch control ring that kind of goes on the outside of the drum head.
01:07Now that really helps control a lot of those overtones and unwanted sustain and that sort
01:12of thing. It has these holes that are drilled around the head and these are called dry vent
01:18holes. Again, it helps to control the snare drum sound, control the sustain and all those
01:23unwanted overtones. This is a head we use on a lot of our snare drums here at the Drumeo
01:28Studios. It works well with rock, it works well with jazz, it really works well with
01:32most styles of music which I really, really love. And so what I'm going to do next for
01:37you is just kind of goof around on the kick, snare and hi-hats and show you how it sounds
01:42in more of a practical context. Here we go.
