Right, Maja. Welcome to Elgin City, first of all.
00:03
Thank you very much.
00:04
It's a long way from Norway.
00:06
Yeah, it is.
00:07
Can you tell us a little bit about the journey
00:09
which has taken you from your homeland here to Borough Briggs?
00:12
It was my dad, actually.
00:14
So he's the main reason I'm here,
00:17
since we were here on holiday.
00:19
And he got in good touch with Chris and Mo,
00:22
and then I had to have a gap year.
00:24
Okay.
00:25
So then just come here to play football.
00:27
Fantastic.
00:28
Tell me about your football so far,
00:29
and who have you played for back in Norway?
00:31
I've played for two clubs.
00:33
Storhavn, since I was six years old.
00:37
That was the club I started in.
00:38
And last year I switched to Otterstad.
00:41
I will be living with Chris and Dennis.
00:44
Okay.
00:45
I'm very happy that I can live with them,
00:47
because they're a big part of this journey as well,
00:50
since it's quite hard to find a place to live.
00:54
Yeah, it really does look like a nice area.
00:57
So that's a big part as well,
00:59
why I chose Elgin.
01:00
Because it's a small city,
01:02
but big enough to have things to do and stuff.
01:05
So it's really nice.
01:06
It's not too big for me.
01:07
No?
01:08
It will get nice to settle down,
01:10
and go into the team and everything.
01:13
And how have the people of Elgin and of Mariby
01:15
been welcoming you so far?
01:17
Everyone has been very welcoming,
01:19
just from the start,
01:20
where I was just texting with Mo and Chris.
01:24
And then I came, and then everyone was welcoming.
01:28
That's also a big reason that I wanted to come over here,
01:31
because I like the team.
01:34
I really want to make an impact on the team,
01:35
and hope to help them go up the division.
01:38
I think they're a really nice group,
01:40
where they include everyone and everything.
01:43
I'm really looking forward to meeting them,
01:46
be friends and play with them.
01:48
What I really like about them is,
01:50
they set up the trainings,
01:51
and let you say straight out what you need and everything.
01:55
So that's great.
01:56
That's great.
01:57
So Sunday, you just can't come along quick enough, I guess?
02:00
Yes, no, I'm very excited.
02:02
I'm going to training today,
02:04
so I'm looking forward to that as well.
02:05
Meet the girls.
02:06
I moved here mostly for the football.
02:09
That's the main thing.
02:10
So I will enjoy that.
02:12
Of course you will, yeah.
02:13
And do you have any ambitions in football?
02:15
Have you set yourself any targets in football for the future?
02:19
I do have some,
02:20
since I want to become a professional footballer,
02:23
but it's far away.
02:25
But we'll see.
02:28
Elgin City could provide you with a stepping stone in that direction?
02:30
They can.
02:31
For me, just coming to England is like a dream to play abroad.
02:35
So it's a big start for me.
02:38
They are pretty much different,
02:40
especially the people.
02:42
Everyone I've met here is very welcoming and stuff,
02:44
so I'm very happy about that.
02:47
The culture is a bit different.
02:49
Yeah, I've been to...
02:51
I don't know.
02:53
I've only been here for a year,
02:55
so it tells you how good I like it.
02:58
In Norway, the men's team is not good.
03:01
They can't play, so...
03:03
Yeah, I don't know.
03:05
We have a certain player called Haaland,
03:07
who does very...
03:09
Yeah, that's very weird,
03:10
because we've got Haaland and Ergar,
03:12
who play for Arsenal.
03:13
So we have an Oscar Blevd as well,
03:16
who's now been a big star in City as well.
03:18
But we have many good Eurovision players,
03:21
but it doesn't seem they've managed to play well together.
03:25
So I hope they can be better later.
03:29
So you're a Norwegian striker coming to Elgin.
03:31
Will they be hoping to score as many goals as Haaland?
03:34
That's the goal, yeah.
03:36
We'll be really impressed if you can do that anyway.
03:39
Yeah, I hope so.
03:41
I really want to have an impact on the game.
03:44
We'll see what happens.
