Bridget Brennan announced as new ABC Breakfast co-host

Dja Dja Wurrung and Yorta Yorta woman Bridget Brennan will take over from Lisa Miller on ABC News Breakfast.

00:04Indigenous Affairs for a really long time, which is my ultimate passion, but actually

00:08to bring new things to the couch and all the wonderful people we have here from Australia

00:13and internationally love this program, love our audience so much, the rapport we have

00:18with our audience and I'm just so excited and I can't wait to get stuck in, but one

00:23negative is I'm going to miss Lisa so much, but you will not be too far away.

00:29We have this wonderfully talented First Nations woman fronting a national breakfast news program

00:37and that is super important.

00:39Yeah, it's really important for my mob, particularly my mob here in Victoria, who are just super

00:43amazing, and I didn't grow up watching any Aboriginal women on TV, so it's really lovely

00:48and also, you know, to sit alongside Tone and see all the work that he's done and the

00:52kind of the blackfellas we're bringing onto the program, that's exciting for me.
