Man arrested for trying to kidnap child at Sterling Heights park

WWJ's Charlie Langton reports a Shelby Twp. man was arrested after he tried to kidnap a 7-year-old girl at Clinton River Park North in Sterling Heights.

00:00I'm here in Sterling Heights at Clinton River Park North.

00:05This is where on Tuesday there was an attempted kidnapping

00:10of a seven-year-old girl.

00:12A citizen, part of a police patrol,

00:16citizens on patrol helped rescue the girl,

00:20along with the girl's aunt.

00:21That person is in custody.

00:22And Sterling Heights Police said that

00:24that person may very well have been

00:26a part of another kidnapping in Clinton Township,

00:32not too far from here, on the same day.

00:35Charges could be coming today against a seven-year-old

00:38attempted kidnap and a 15-year-old,

00:40another girl in Clinton Township.
