DepEd to focus on anti-bullying policy of schools

00:00It is undeniable that bullying has a negative effect on a student, particularly in his or her performance in school.

00:06This is something the Department of Education or DepEd wants to focus on.

00:10Secretary Sonny Angara assured the DepEd is strictly monitoring each school's implementation of their respective anti-bullying policies.

00:18Each school is required to have an anti-bullying policy.

00:21But the law doesn't say how strict they have to be.

00:27But the problem is, on the ground, very few schools have their own anti-bullying policy.

00:32So, as a DepEd, we will really track or monitor the compliance in this law.
