Cousins caught with 52kg of ganja in Penang

Two cousins were arrested in Penang on Aug 8 with 52kg of ganja worth over RM163,000. 00:00On August 8, 2024, at around 8.38 p.m.,

00:07a group of police officers from the Drug Crime Investigation Department of the Pulau Pinar Contingent

00:19launched an operation around George Town, Pulau Pinar.

00:25As a result of the operation, two local men were arrested,

00:34each of whom was 18 and 28 years old.

00:41As a result of the operation, the police managed to steal a box of chocolate

00:49containing 20 pieces of dried leaves in the shape of a plastic box.

01:00The total weight of the box was 21,041 grams, worth around RM65,000.

01:08The investigation was carried out by the investigation team

01:13against a four-wheeled vehicle of the type Ford Ranger,

01:19which was located at the same location,

01:22and managed to steal two boxes of chocolate,

01:27which contained 30 pieces of dried leaves in the shape of a plastic box.

01:37The total weight of the box was 31,555 grams, worth around RM97,820.

01:45As a result of our investigation,

01:48the sale of the box was carried out at the beginning of March 2024.

01:55The investigation was carried out against two suspects,

02:00one of whom was 18 years old,

02:05and was found to have positive THC, which is positive ganja.

02:10There was no record of wrongdoing for the 28-year-old,

02:18whether it was a crime or a drug,

02:21while the 18-year-old was found guilty of two crimes.

02:30He was detained in Liman for seven days,

02:33from 9 August 2024 to 15 August 2024.

02:39The case was investigated under Section 39B,

02:43Acta Dada Berbahaya 1952.

02:46If a crime was committed,

02:48he could be sentenced to life imprisonment

02:52and a minimum sentence of 12 years for the crime.

02:58The total value of the robbery was RM165,347.

03:05The relationship between the two kidnappers was that they were cousins.

03:13The robbery was committed on the south side of the road.

03:19We are not sure where the robbery happened.

03:21It is still under investigation.
